Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektivitas prosedur penyelesaian sengketa perdata melalui jalur mediasi pada Pengadilan Negeri Yogyakarta tahun 2017-2018 dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi efektivitas prosedur penyelesaian sengketa perdata melalui jalur mediasi pada Pengadilan Negeri Yogyakarta tahun 2017-2018.
Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan yuridis sosiologis. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Pengadilan Negeri Yogyakarta. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling sebanyak 25 responden. Pengambilan data dengan metode angket dan wawancara. Data yang terkumpul diolah dengan menggunakan metode coding, editing, dan tabulasi data yang secara keseluruhan disajikan dalam bentuk tabel distribusi frekuensi, tabel silang, dan teks naratif.
Dari hasil penelitian ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa prosedur penyelesaian sengketa perdata melalui jalur mediasi pada Pengadilan Negeri Yogyakarta tahun 2017-2018 adalah efektif. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan dilaksanakannya tahap pramediasi dan proses mediasi sesuai dengan Perma No. 1 Tahun 2016. Efektivitas ini dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor yaitu faktor pengalaman bekerja, faktor ketersediaan sumber daya manusia, faktor sarana atau fasilitas, faktor iktikad para pihak, dan faktor kerja sama.

The purpose of this study is to find out effectiveness of civil dispute settlement procedures through mediation in Yogyakarta District Court in 2017-2018 and also to find out the factors that influence the effectiveness of the procedure for resolving civil disputes through mediation in the Yogyakarta District Court in 2017-2018.
To achieve that goals, this study uses a sociological juridical approach. This study was conducted at the Yogyakarta District Court. The sampling method uses 25 simple random sampling. Retrieval of data with the method of distributing questionnaires and interviews. The collected data is processed using the method of coding, editing, and tabulation of data as a whole presented in the form of frequency distribution tables, cross tables, and narrative texts.
From the results of this study, it was concluded that the procedure for resolving civil disputes through mediation in the Yogyakarta District Court in 2017-2018 was effective. This can be proven by the implementation of the pre-mediation stage and the mediation process in accordance with Perma No. 1 Tahun 2016. This effectiveness is influenced by factors such as work experience factor, availability of human recources factor, facilities factor, parties intention factor, and collaboration factor.
