Penyuluh pertanian memiliki peran penting dalam membantu usahatani yang dimiliki petani. Persepsi terhadap penyuluh merupakan kunci dalam terwujudnya kesinambunan petani dengan penyuluh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: (1) persepsi petani terhadap peran penyuluh di Kecamatan Kebasen; dan (2) faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi petani terhadap peran penyuluh di Kecamatan Kebasen. Penelitian dilakukan secara survai di wilayah Kecamatan Kebasen dan ditentukan secara purposive di tiga desa yaitu di Desa Kebasen, Desa Gambarsari dan Desa Kalisalak. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan bulan Oktober sampai November 2018. Penentuan responden dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Simple Random Sampling dengan unit populasi adalah petani. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dengan bantuan alat ukur Likert’s Summated Ratings yang dilanjutkan dengan metode Succesive Interval, dan analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) persepsi petani terhadap peran penyuluh secara keseluruhan berada dalam kategori sedang yang digambarkan oleh komponen penasehat (sedang), motivator (sedang) dan organisator (sedang); (2) faktor-faktor personal dan situasional terhadap persepsi petani terhadap peran penyuluh. Secara parsial faktor personal pendidikan memiliki pengaruh negatif, pengalaman usahatani memiliki pengaruh negatif dan faktor situasional metode yang digunakan penyuluh memiliki pengaruh negatif, dayatarik penyuluh memiliki pengaruh negatif dan kredibilitas memiliki pengaruh positif.

Agricultural extension agents have an important role in helping farmers who have farmer’s business. Perception of extension agents is the key to the realization of continuity between the farmers and extension workers. This research aims to analyze: (1) farmer’s perceptions with the role of extension agents in Kebasen District; and (2) factors that influence farmer’s perceptions with the role of extension agents in Kebasen District. The research was carried out in villages in Kebasen District and determined intentionally in three villages, the name are Kebasen Village, Gambarsari Village and Kalisalak Village. Data collection was carried out from October to November 2018. Determination of respondents in this research using Simple Random Sampling with the participation unit is farmers. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis with the help of measuring instrument Likert's Summated Ratings and then continue with Successive Interval method, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the research showed that (1) farmers' perceptions with the role of the instructor in the medium category were facilitated by the advisory component (medium), motivator (medium) and organizer (medium); (2) personal and situational factors on farmers' perceptions with the role of extension agents. Partially, the personal education factor has a negative influence, farming experience has a negative influence and situational factors, the method used by the instructor has a negative influence, the attraction of the instructor has a negative influence and credibility has a positive influence.
