HUBUNGAN KESULITAN BELAJAR DENGAN PERILAKU ADAPTIVE HELP SEEKING PADA MAHASISWA LUAR PULAU JAWA DI UNIVERSITAS JENDERAL SOEDIRMAN

Latar Belakang: Mahasiswa luar Pulau Jawa memiliki hambatan dalam proses pembelajaran karena perbedaan budaya, bahasa, cara bersosialissi dan cara berperilaku. Adanya hambatan dalam belajar ini mendorong mahasiswa untuk berupaya mencari bantuan. Mahasiswa dapat memperoleh bantuan secara adaptif atau perilaku adaptive help seeking Tujuan: Mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara kesulitan belajar dengan perilaku adaptive help seeking Metodologi: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan desain analitik korelasi. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan cross sectional. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan proportional sampling dengan jumlah responden 68 mahasiswa. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner kesulitan belajar dan kuesioner perilaku adaptive help seeking. Analisa data pada penelitian ini menggunakan uji statistik Somers’d. Hasil: Hasil analisis menunjukan mayoritas mahasiswa luar Pulau Jawa mengalami kesulitan belajar kategori tinggi (85,3%). Mayoritas mahasiswa luar Pulau Jawa memiliki perilaku adaptive help seeking sangat baik (57,4%). p value 0,021 dan nilai r -0,707 Kesimpulan: Hasil uji statistik Somers’d menunjukan terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara kesulitan belajar dengan perilaku adaptive help seeking pada mahasiswa luar Pulau Jawa dengan nilai p= 0,021 dan nilai r= -0,707. Semakin tinggi kesulitan belajar yang dialami mahasiswa luar Pulau Jawa maka semakin buruk perilaku adaptive help seeking.

Background: Students outside Java have obstacles in the learning process because of differences in culture, language, ways of socializing and how to behave. The existence of barriers to learning encourages students to seek help. Students can get adaptive help or adaptive help seeking behavior Objectives: To find out whether there is a relationship between learning difficulties and adaptive help seeking behavior Method: This research is a quantitative study with correlation analytic design. The design of this study uses cross sectional. Sampling using proportional sampling with the number of respondents 68 students. This research instrument uses a questionnaire on learning difficulties and an adaptive help seeking behavior questionnaire. Data analysis in this study uses Somers'd statistical test. Result: The results showed that 11,8% college students of outside Java Island had learning difficulties with very high category, 85,3% college student had learning difficulties with high category, 2,9% college student had learning difficulties with moderate category. More than half of college student outside Java had very good adaptive help seeking behavior (57.4%) and the rest (42.6%) had good adaptive help seeking behavior. The results of the Somers'd statistical test showed p value 0.021 with r -0.707. Kesimpulan: The results of the Somers'd statistical test show that there is a significant relationship between learning difficulties with adaptive help seeking behavior on students outside Java with a value of p = 0.021 and a value of r = -0.707. The higher the learning difficulties experienced by students outside Java, the worse the behavior of adaptive help seeking.
