Penelitian ini adalah kajian morfologi yang difokuskan pada compounding. Fokus utamanya adalah analisis proses English compounding pada istilah-istilah fotografi dalam artikel outdoorphotographer.com. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui tipe-tipe compound pada istilah-istilah fotografi, dan (2) mengidentifikasi tipe-tipe hubungan semantik dari bentuk-bentuk compound tersebut. Data berupa istilah-istilah fotografi dalam bentuk compound yang terdapat pada artikel outdoorphotographer.com yang dipublikasikan Agustus hingga Nopember 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif untuk menganalisis data yang diperoleh dengan mengidentifikasi istilah-istilah fotografi dengan kamus fotografi dan sumber lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Carstairs-McCarthy dalam tipe-tipe compound serta teori Bauer dalam hubungan semanitknya. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 107 istilah fotografi berbentuk compound dalam artikel yang dikumpulkan. Terdapat 4 tipe compound yang terdiri dari 93 compound noun (52 noun+noun, 37 adjective+noun, 1 verb+noun, and 3 preposition+noun), 3 compound adjective (2 noun+adjective dan 1 adjective+adjective), 2 phrasal word, dan 9 combining form. Kemudian, hubungan semantiknya terdiri dari 3 tipe yang mencakup 98 endocentric compound, 8 exocentric compound, dan 1 copulative compound. Penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai referensi tambahan dalam mengetahui bagaimana sejumlah istilah terbentuk guna membantu dalam memahami ranah fotografi.

The general concern of this research is morphological study on compounding. The main concern is the analysis of English compounding process of photography terminologies in outdoorphotographer.com articles. It aims: (1) to find out the types of compounds of photography terminologies, and (2) to identify the types of semantic relationship of the compounds. The data are photography terminologies in the form of compound words posted in articles of outdoorphotographer.com from August to November 2016. It is a qualitative research; therefore, descriptive qualitative method was applied in analyzing the data of the research. The data were collected by identifying the terminologies with a dictionary of photography and the other resources. I use Carstairs-McCarthy’s theory of compound types and  Bauer’s theory of semantic relationship in compounding. The result shows that 107 compounds of photography terminologies are found in the articles. There are 4 types of compounds consisting of 93 compound nouns (52 noun+noun, 37 adjective+noun, 1 verb+noun, and 3 preposition+noun), 3 compound adjectives (2 noun+adjective and 1 adjective+adjective), 2 phrasal words, and 9 combining forms (neo-classical compound). Then, the semantic relationships of the compounds consist of 3 types including 98 endocentric compounds, 8 exocentric compounds, and 1 copulative compound. This research can be used as an additional reference to find out how some terminologies are formed to help understanding photography.
