Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tipe ilokusi apa yang terdapat pada ujaran enam karakter di serial TV Game of Thrones Season-1. Penelitian ini juga menjelaskan kondisi kesahihan dari tiap ilokusi yang ditemukan. Bidang penelitian ini adalah pragmatik yang merupakan kajian tentang makna yang berbasis pada konteks. Dalam melakukan penelitian ini, beberapa teori digunakan antara lain teori tindak ilokusi oleh Searle (1979) dan teori kondisi kesahihan oleh Searle (1970). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian ini adalah tindak ilokusi pada ujaran dari karakter dalam serial TV Game of Thrones Season- 1. Dalam menganalisis data, data dibatasi pada tindak ilokusi dari ujaran enam karakter serial tersebut yaitu Ned Stark, Cersei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Catelyn Stark, Joffrey, and Sansa Stark. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada lima tipe ilokusi yang digunakan oleh enam karakter di TV Series Game of Thrones season – 1 yaitu: Assertive 77, Directive 162, Commissive 48, Expressive 70, dan Declaration 6. Sementara itu, dari hasil penelitian juga ditemukan tindak ilokusi yang sahih (felicitous) dan tidak sahih (infelicitous). Dari 363 total tindak ilokusi yang ditemukan, 289 termasuk kedalam ilokusi yang sahih (79%), dan 79 termasuk kedalam ilokusi yang tidak sahih (21%). Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa karakter yang jahat di serial ini cenderung melanggar kondisi kesahihan dalam ilokusinya. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan bisa memperluas pengetahuan pembaca tentang tindak ilokusi dan kondisi kesahihan. Selain itu, peneliti yang akan meneliti topik yang sama untuk penelitian selanjutnya diharapkan menggunakan teori yang berbeda dan menganilisis topik yang lebih spesifik.

This research aims at finding out the types of illocutionary acts performed by the six characters in HBO TV Series Game of Thrones Season – 1. Furthermore, it describes the felicity condition of each illocution that is found in the series. The field of this research is pragmatics which is the study of meaning based on the context. In analyzing the data, some theories are applied which are illocutionary act theory by Searle (1970) and felicity condition theory by Searle (1979). The method of this research is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research are the illocutionary acts performed by the characters in the TV series Game of Thrones Season – 1. In analyzing the data, the data are limited into the illocutionary acts performed by six characters of the series who are Ned Stark, Cersei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Catelyn Stark, Joffrey, and Sansa Stark. The result of this research shows that there are five types of illocutionary acts used by the six characters in the series: Assertive 77, Directive 162, Commissive 48, Expressive 70, and Declaration 6. Meanwhile, it is also found that the illocutionary acts in the TV Series Game of Thrones are either felicitous or infelicitous. From 363 total illocutionary acts found, there are 289 felicitous illocutions (79%), and 76 infelicitous illocutions (21%). The result shows that bad characters in the series tend to violate the felicty condition in their illocutions. The results of this research are expected to enrich the readers’s knowledge about illocutionary act and felicity condition. It is also expected to the other researchers who want to conduct research with similar topic to use different theory and analyze the topic more specifically.
