HUBUNGAN FRAME SIZE TERHADAP BOBOT POTONG, BOBOT KARKAS, DAN PERSENTASE KARKAS SAPI POTONG PERANAKAN ONGOLE DI KABUPATEN BANYUMAS

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji pengaruh frame size terhadap bobot potong, bobot karkas, dan persentase karkas. Materi yang digunakan meliputi 30 ekor sapi Peranakan Ongole dengan umur berkisar 3 – 4 tahun atau telah memiliki sepasang gigi tetap dengan nilai frame size 120 – 150 cm. Dari hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa frame size berhubungan nyata terhadap bobot potong (P<0,01), dan bobot karkas (P<0,01), tetapi tidak berhubungan nyata terhadap persentase karkas (P>0,05). Persamaan regresi bobot potong Y = -489,51 + 6,51 X dengan R2 = 0,935, bobot karkas Y = -246,13 + 3,21 X dengan R2 = 0,940 dan persentase karkas Y = +45,21 – 0,023 X dengan R2 = 0,012. Penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa frame size memiliki hubungan yang sangat nyata terhadap bobot potong dan bobot karkas, akan tetapi tidak ada hubungan nyata terhadap persentase karkas sapi Peranakan Ongole.

The aim of this research were to know and to study the relationship of frame size on slaughter weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage. The material used consisted of 30 Ongole crossbreed cattle with age ranging from 3 to 4 or they had a pair of permanent teeth with frame size value 120 - 150. The results showed that from the data of 30 samples obtained the average slaughter weight of 346 ± 39.78 kg , carcass weight of 166.66 ± 19.60 kg and the percentage carcasses of 48.16 ± 1.24 %. The result showed that frame size was significantly correlated with slaughter weight (P<0.01), and carcass weight (P<0.01), but did not correlate significantly to carcass percentage (P>0.05). Slaughter weight Y = -489.51 + 6.51 X with R2 = 0,935, carcass weight Y = -246.13 + 3.21 X with R2 = 0,940 and carcase percentage Y = + 45.21 – 0.023 X with R2 = 0,012. It can be concluded that frame size has a very real relationship to the slaughter weight and carcass weight, but there is no real relationship to the percentage of Ongole cattle carcass.
