Jeruk impor merupakan salah satu buah yang diminati oleh masyarakat kota Purwokerto. Impor jeruk dapat terjadi karena adanya pengaruh dari harga, jumlah penghasilan, jarak untuk memperoleh, tingkat pendidikan dan frekuensi pembelian. Mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi permintaan konsumen terhadap buah jeruk impor sangat penting. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi permintaan buah jeruk impor di kota Purwokerto perlu dianalisis sehingga dapat memprediksi kebutuhan masyarakat akan buah jeruk impor dan dapat melakukan perencanaan yang strategis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui karakteristik konsumen buah jeruk impor di kota Purwokerto, (2) mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi permintaan buah jeruk impor di kota Purwokerto dan (3) mengetahui elastisitas permintaan buah jeruk impor di kota Purwokerto. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik accidentally sampling terhadap 96 konsumen di pasar tradisional dan beberapa kios buah di kota Purwokerto. Data penelitian berupa data primer dan data sekunder yang diperoleh melalui wawancara, kuisioner dan studi pustaka. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai dengan Agustus 2017 dengan sasaran penelitian adalah konsumen buah jeruk impor. Analisis yang dilakukan adalah analisis deskriptif, analisis regresi linear berganda dan elastisitas permintaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik konsumen buah jeruk impor di kota Purwokerto mayoritas berprofesi sebagai karyawan swasta, berjenis kelamin perempuan, usia antara 15 sampai dengan 64 tahun, telah menyelesaikan pendidikan akhir tamat SMA/ SMK, memiliki jumlah penghasilan rumah tangga antara Rp2.000.000,00 sampai dengan Rp3.000.000,00 per bulan, memiliki jumlah anggota keluarga sebesar 4 orang dan melakukan pembelian dengan frekuensi 1 kali per bulan. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi permintaan buah jeruk impor di kota Purwokerto adalah harga jeruk impor, jumlah penghasilan keluarga dan frekuensi pembelian. Elastisitas permintaan harga buah jeruk impor bersifat inelastis, elastisitas silang menunjukkan bahwa buah jeruk lokal merupakan barang pengganti buah jeruk impor.

Imported orange is one of the fruits of interest by the people in Purwokerto city. Orange import can occur due to the influence of price, amount of income, distance to obtain, education level and frequency of purchase. Knowing the factors that influence of consumer’s demand is very important. It is necessary to analysis the factors affecting the demand for imported orange fruit in Purwokerto city so that can be predicted the community needs for imported orange fruit and can undertake strategic planning. The aims of this research are (1) to know the characteristics of imported orange fruit consumers in Purwokerto city, (2) to know the factors that influence the demand of imported orange fruit  in Purwokerto city and (3) to know the elasticity of the demand of imported orange fruit in Purwokerto city. The sampling method was done by using accidentally sampling on 96 consumers in traditional market and some fruits store in Purwokerto city. The research data are primary and secondary data were obtained through the interviews, questionnaires and literature. The research was conducted on July to August 2017 with the objective of the research being the consumers of imported orange fruit consumers. The data analysis are descriptive analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, and demand elasticity. The result shows that characteristic of consumer of imported orange fruit in Purwokerto city majority work as the private employee, female gender, age between 15 to 64 years, have graduated from senior high school/ vocational school, has a total household income between Rp2,000,000.00 to Rp3,000,000.00 per month, has 4 family members, and frequency of purchase 1 times per month. Factors that influence the demand of imported orange fruit in Purwokerto city are the price of imported orange fruit, amount of family income and frequency of purchase. The price demand elasticity of imported orange fruit is inelastic, the cross elasticity indicates that the local orange fruit is substitute for imported orange fruit.
