Pakcoy merupakan jenis sawi yang memiliki kandungan vitamin, serat dan mineral yang lengkap. Salah satu alternatif budidaya tanaman selain konvensional, dalam meningkatkan kualitas sayuran pakcoy dapat menggunakan teknologi hidroponik. Pemilihan media tanam dalam hidroponik seperti cocopeat, kompos, arang sekam dan lain-lain, dilakukan untuk meningkatkan hasil tanaman pakcoy. Media tanam yang digunakan dalam hidroponik umumnya mengandung sedikit unsur hara. Oleh karena itu, pemberian nutrisi dalam sistem hidroponik ini sangat penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui media tanam yang paling tepat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy dalam sistem hidroponik, (2) mengetahui sumber nutrisi yang paling tepat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy dalam sistem hidroponik, dan (3) mengetahui kombinasi perlakuan terbaik antara media tanam dan sumber nutrisi terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy dalam sistem hidroponik.
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei sampai Juli 2017 di Screen House, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK). Faktor pertama terdiri dari 3 macam media tanam, yaitu arang sekam, cocopeat dan campuran arang sekam : cocopeat (1:1). Faktor kedua terdiri dari 3 taraf sumber nutrisi, yaitu AB Mix (100%), AB Mix (50%)a + POC Nasa (50%), dan POC Nasa (100%). Variabel yang diamati yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, bobot akar, volume akar, bobot tanaman segar, bobot tanaman kering, dan bobot tajuk tanaman segar. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji F, apabila terdapat keragaman maka dilanjutkan dengan DMRT taraf 5%. 
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media tanam dalam sistem hidroponik berpengaruh terhadap variabel tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot tanaman kering, bobot akar dan volume akar. Media tanam paling tepat adalah cocopeat. Sumber nutrisi berpengaruh terhadap variabel tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, bobot tanaman segar, bobot tanaman kering, dan bobot tajuk tanaman segar. Sumber nutrisi paling tepat adalah AB Mix 100% tidak berbeda dengan AB Mix (50%) + POC Nasa (50%) dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman pakcoy dalam sistem hidroponik. Kombinasi perlakuan media tanam cocopeat dan sumber nutrisi AB Mix 100% cenderung memberikan rerata hasil bobot tajuk tanaman segar sebesar 175,18 gram.

Pakcoy is a type of mustard that has a complete content of vitamins, fiber and minerals. Hydroponic is one alternative of cultural technique to increase the quality and production of pakcoy. Selection of suitable organic materials as growing media such as cocopeat, compost, rice husk and others, can also be done to improve the yield of pakcoy. The growing media used in hydroponic aggregates generally contains abit of nutrients. Therefore, the provision of nutrients in the hydroponics system is very important. This research aimed to determined (1) find out the most appropriate growing media for the growth and yield of the pakcoy crops in the hydroponic system, (2) find out the most appropriate sources of nutrition on the growth and yield of the pakcoy crops in the hydroponic system, and (3) to know the best treatment combination between growing media and nutrient sources to the growth and yield of the pakcoy plant in the hydroponics system.
This research was conducted from May to July 2017 at the screen house of the Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. This research uses Randomized Block Design (RBD). The first factor consisted of 3 kinds varieties of growing media, which were rice husk, cocopeat and combination of rice husk:cocopeat (1:1). The second factor consisted of 3 levels of nutrient sources, ie AB Mix (100%), AB Mix (50%)+POC Nasa (50%), and POC Nasa (100%). The variables observed were plant height, leaf number, leaf area, root weight, root volume, fresh plant weight, dry plant weight and fresh crown weight. Data were analyzed by F test, and continued with DMRT if significant with an alpha of 5%. 
The results showed that growing media in the hydroponic system was able to have a affect on the plant height, variable of leaf amount, weight of dry plant,  root weight and root volume. The best of growing media is cocopeat. Sources of nutrients was able to have affect on the variable height of plants, leaf amount, leaf area, weight of fresh plant, weight of dry plant, and the weight of fresh plant canopy. The best source of nutrients is AB Mix 100% however AB Mix (50%)+POC Nasa (50%) can be give prospect an alternative source of nutrients in hydroponics systems. The combination treatment of growing media cocopeat and source of nutrition AB Mix (100%) tends to show the average weight of  fresh plant canopy is 175,18 gram.
