FORMULASI SEDIAAN SAMPO GEL MINYAK SERAI WANGI (Citronella oil) DENGAN BASIS CMC (Carboxy Methyl Cellulose) SEBAGAI ANTIFUNGI Pityrosporum ovale

Minyak serai wangi mengandung citronella yang memiliki aktivitas antifungi sehingga dapat diformulasikan menjadi sampo antiketombe terhadap Pityrosporum ovale. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh CMC terhadap sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan sampo gel, untuk mendapatkan formula terpilih dan mengetahui aktivitas sampo gel minyak serai wangi terhadap Pityrosporum ovale. Sampo gel minyak serai wangi dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi CMC 2%, 3%, 4%, dan 5%. Uji sifat fisik sediaan meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, dan pH dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan kemampuan dan stabilitas busa, viskositas, dan persentase zat padat yang dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA satu arah. Uji stabilitas menggunakan metode Freeze-Thaw selama 6 siklus. Formula terpilih diuji aktivitas antifungi terhadap Pityrosporum ovale menggunakan metode sumuran. CMC berpengaruh terhadap sifat fisik viskositas sediaan sampo minyak serai wangi. Peningkatan konsentrasi CMC akan meningkatkan viskositas sampo gel secara signifikan (p value=0,000). Formula terpilih adalah FIII dengan konsentrasi CMC 4%. Formula terpilih memiliki sifat fisik pH 8,4 hingga 8,7, viskositas 1563 hingga 6410 cps, kemampuan dan stabilitas busa 31 hingga 58 ml, dan persentase zat padat 14,17 hingga 19,17%. Zona hambat formula terpilih FIII terhadap Pityrosporum ovale adalah 20,67 mm. Minyak serai wangi 1200 ppm dapat diformulasikan menjadi sediaan sampo antiketombe yang memenuhi syarat sifat fisik dan stabilitas dengan basis CMC 4%, sodium lauril sulfat 14%, cocamide DEA 2%, propil paraben 0,2%, dan mentol 0,25%.

Citronella essential oil contains citronella which has antifungal activity that can be formulated into antidandruff shampoo against Pityrosporum ovale. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of CMC on the physical properties and stability of gel shampoo, to obtain the selected formula, and to determine the activity of citronella oil gel shampooon Pityrosporum ovale. The citronella oil gel shampoo was made with variations of CMC concentrations of 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5%. The physical properties include organoleptic, homogeneity, and pH were analyzed descriptively, while the foam ability and stability, viscosity, and percentage of solids were analyzed using one-way ANOVA. Stability test using Freeze-Thaw method for 6 cycles. Selected formula were tested for antifungal activity against Pityrosporum ovale using well diffusion method. CMC has an effect on viscosity of the citronella oil gel shampoo. Increased CMC concentrations significantly increase the viscosity of gel shampoo (p = 0.00). The selected formula is FIII with 4% CMC concentration. Selected formula has physical properties of pH 8,4 to 8,7, viscosity 1563 to 6410 cps, foam ability and stability 31 to 58 ml, and percentage of solids 14,17 to 19,17%. The inhibitory zone of the selected formula FIII to Pityrosporum ovale was 20.67 mm. 1200 ppm citronella oil gel shampoo can be formulated into antidandruff shampoo that qualify for physical properties and stability with 4% CMC, 14% sodium lauryl sulphate, 2% DEA cocamide, 2% propyl paraben, and 0.25% menthol.
