Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh status sosial ekonomi terhadap partisipasi politik petani di Desa Klinting, Kecamatan Somagede, Kabupaten Banyumas. Status sosial ekonomi dapat diukur dengan tingkat pendidikan dan tingkat pendapatan seseorang, sedangkan partisipasi politik seseorang dapat diukur dengan intensitasnya mengikuti saat pra-voting, voting, dan paska voting.
Metode yang akan digunakan adalah kuantitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah petani yang sudah mempunyai hak pilih pada saat pemilihan presiden tahun 2014. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 87 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode kuesioner, studi pustaka, dan observasi lapangan. Gambaran dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif, uji validitas menggunakan analisis Product Moment dan uji reliabilitas menggunakan Alpha Cronbach. Dalam penelitian ini datanya bersifat ordinal maka dari itu korelasinya menggunakan Korelasi Spearman dan Regresi Ordinal. 
Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan jika Ho di tolak dan Hk diterima dengan nilai 0,356** yang menunjukan koefisien korelasi Rho Spearman antara status sosial ekonomi (X) dengan partisipasi politik petani (Y), dengan adanya tanda ** ini menunjukkan nilai sig. (2-tailed) pasti < 0,05. Nilai probabilitasnya adalah 0,001 ini berarti nilai probabilitasnya jauh di bawah 0,05. Besar pengaruh status sosial ekonomi terhadap partisipasi politiknya 8%, nilai estimatesnya semuanya naik. Artinya, status sosial ekonomi berpengaruh terhadap partisipasi politik petani di Desa Klinting, Kecamatan Somagede, Kabupaten Banyumas.

This research aims to know the influence of economic social status towards farmer political participation in Klinting Village, Somagede, Banyumas Regency. Samuel Huntington stated if someone has higher economic social status, it is also related to the political participation. Moreover, this research will show the readers whether the Samuel Huntington’s theory is still occur in Klinting Village on the Presidential election in 2014 or not. The researcher used quantitave method. The sample of this research were the farmers who had the right to join the Presidential election in 2014. It had 87 participants. The data were collected by questioner method, literature review and field observation. The illustration on this research used descriptive analysis, the validity test used Product Moment analysis and the reliablity test used Alpha Cronbach. The data on this research were ordinally, so the correlation was using Spearman Correlation and Regression ordinal.
	The result of this research shows that if Ho is rejected and Hk is received with the value 0,356** which is showing the coefficient correlation Rho Spearman between the economic social status (X) towards former political participation (Y). The sign ** shows sig value. (2 tailed) exactly 0,05. The probability is 0,001. It means the probability is so far under <0,05. The influence of economic social status towards its political participation has 8%, the estimation values are increasing. In conclusion, the economic social status influences the farmer political participation in Klinting Village, Somagede, Banyumas Regency.
