Masalah penyalahgunaan narkotika ini bukan saja merupakan masalah yang perlu mendapat perhatian bagi Negara Indonesia, melainkan juga bagi dunia Internasional. Peran penting pihak kepolisian dalam tugasnya memberantas kasus kejahatan terkait narkoba harus didukung oleh semua pihak. Oleh karena itu, pencegahan tindak pidana narkotika penting untuk dikaji khususnya di wilayah hukum Polres Kebumen. Aspek-aspek hukum yang dibahas dalam penulisan hukum ini adalah mengenai upaya pencegahan tindak pidana narkotika di wilayah hukum Polres Kebumen dan hambatan dalam melakukan pencegahan tindak pidana narkotika di wilayah hukum Polres Kebumen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah yuridis sosiologis. Mengenai aspek-aspek hukum yang dibahas tersebut, dianalisis dengan doktrin dan teori-teori yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan yang akan dibahas. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, pertama mengenai upaya pencegahan tindak pidana narotika di wilayah hukum Polres Kebumen yaitu melakukan upaya preventif (non penal) dan upaya represif (penal). Mengeni masalah yang kedua, hambatan dalam melakukan pencegahan tindak pidana narkotika di wilayah hukum Polres Kebumen yaitu hambatannya dipengaruhi oleh factor penegak hukum, factor sarana atau fasilitas, factor masyarakat, dan factor kebudayaan.

The narcotics abuse problem is not only problem that needs attention in Indonesian but also in the world. The important role of the police in its task of combating drug-related crime cases must be supported by all parties. Therefore, the prevention of narcotics crime is important to be studied especially in the law area police resourch of Kebumen. The legal aspects discussed in the writing of this law is about the prevention of narcotic criminal acts in the law area police resourch of Kebumen and the problem in conducting the prevention of narcotics crime in the law area police resourch of Kebumen. Sociological juridical is used in this research. In there by doctrine and theories relating to the issues to be discussed. The first results of this research is the efforts to prevent narcotic criminal acts in the law area police resourch of Kebumen that is doing the effort of preventive (non penal) and repressive (penal). On the second problem in conducting the prevention of narcotic crime in the law area police resourch of Kebumen that the barrier is influenced by law enforcement factors, facilities factors, community factors and cultural factors.
