Pengaruh Level Onggok Terhadap Tekstur dan Warna Silase Rumput Odot (Pennisetum purpureum cv.Mott)

Penelitian berjudul “Pengaruh Level Onggok Terhadap Tekstur dan Warna Silase Rumput Odot (Pennisetum purpureum cv.Mott)” dilakukan dari tanggal 22 Desember 2016 sampai 17 Januari 2017 di Experimental Farm dan Laboratorium Riset Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Tujuan penelitian adalah Mempelajari pengaruh pemberian level onggok terhadap tekstur dan warna silase rumput odot, mengetahui level onggok terbaik dalam menentukan tekstur dan warna silase rumput odot. Materi yang digunakan adalah rumput odot dan onggok. Alat yang digunakan adalah plastik transparan sebanyak 20 buah, sabit, pisau, karet pengikat thermometer dan pH meter. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang diujicobakan yaitu R0: rumput odot + 0% onggok, R1: rumput odot + 10% onggok, R2: rumput odot + 20% onggok, R3: rumput odot + 30% onggok dan R₄: rumput odot + 40% onggok. Perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali, selanjutnya data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0.05) terhadap tekstur dan warna silase rumput odot. Hasil uji orthogonal polinomial menunjukkan perbedaan (P<0.05) antara perlakuan R0 dengan R1, R2, R3, dan R₄. Semakin tinggi perlakuan penambahan level onggok pada silase, maka semakin tinggi pula skor tekstur dan warna silase serta semakin baik kualitas silase yang dihasilkan. Hasil uji orthogonal polinomiaal memberikan respon linier (P<0.05) terhadap tekstur dan warna silase. Persamaan garis yang ditunjukkan yaitu Y= 0.8875 + 0.0925X dan R² = 88.76% untuk tekstur silase, sedangkan untuk warna silase Y= 0.8625 + 0.09X dan R² = 86.034%. Disimpulkan dari penelitian ini adalah Semakin tinggi pemberian level onggok akan menghasilkan tekstur dan warna silase rumput odot yang semakin baik.

The study entitled "The Effect of Onggok Level on Texture and Color of Odot Grass Silage (Pennisetum purpureum cv.Mott)" was conducted from December 22nd, 2016 until January 17th, 2017 at the Experimental Farm and Research Laboratory of University of General Soedirman, Purwokerto. The purpose of this study was to study the effect of giving the level of onggok on the texture and the color of the odot grass silage, to know the best onggok level in determining the texture and the color of odot grass silage. The materials used were odot grass and onggok. The tools used were transparent plastic as many as 20 pieces, sickle, knife, rubber, binder, thermometer, and pH meter. The research method was experimental with Completely Randomized Design (LRD). The experimental treatments were R0: odot grass + 0% of onggok, R1: odot grass + 10% of onggok, R2: odot grass + 20% of onggok, R3: odot grass + 30% of onggok and R₄: odot grass + 40% of onggok. The treatments were repeated 4 times, then the data were analyzed using variance analysis. The results showed that the treatment hada significant effect (P <0.05) on the texture and of color odot grass silage. The orthogonal polynomial test results showed significant differences (P <0.05) between treatment R0 with R1, R2, R3, and R₄. The higher the treatment of the addition of the onggok level on the silage, the higher the texture score and the silage color and the better the quality of the silage produced. The orthogonal polynomial test results was a linear response (P <0.05) to the texture and silage color. The line equation shown was Y = 0.8875 + 0.0925X and R² = 88.76% for silage texture, while for silage color, Y = 0.8625 + 0.09X and R² = 86.034%. The conclusion of this research is that higher level of onggok will result in better texture and silage of odot grass.
