KADAR SERAT KASAR DAN PROTEIN KASAR DAUN TURI (Sesbania grandiflora) PADA DIAMETER BATANG YANG BERBEDA

Penelitian telah dilaksanakan semenjak 3 september 2016 sampai 24 februari 2017, bertempat di Desa Klumprit Kec. Nusawungu Kab. Cilacap dan Laboratorium Ilmu Bahan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar serat kasar dan protein kasar daun turi dari diameter batang tanaman turi 3, 6 dan 9 cm. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode survey. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan purposive sampling, sedangkan perlakuan dibagi menjadi tiga taraf, yaitu diameter batang 3, 6 dan 9 cm, setiap taraf perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 kali. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah kadar serat kasar dan protein kasar daun turi. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ditabulasikan dalam tabel tabulasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskripsi statistik, analisis variansi dan uji beda nyata jujur pada beda diameter batang 3, 6 dan 9 cm. Berdasarkan hasil analisis semakin besar diameter batang dari tanaman turi meningkatkan kadar serat kasar, namun berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap kadar protein kasar pada daun turi karena kadar protein kasar semakin tinggi seiring dengan semakin besarnya diameter batang. Setelah melaksanakan penelitian dapat diperoleh informasi tentang kadar serat kasar dan protein kasar daun turi pada diameter batang 3, 6 dan 9 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rata-rata kadar serat kasar pada masing-masing tanaman turi yang berdiameter 3, 6 dan 9 cm masing-masing sebesar 13,83%, 16,83% dan 17,5%. Rata-rata kadar protein kasar tanaman turi yang berdiameter 3, 6 dan 9 cm masing-masing sebesar 27,74%, 28,64% dan 30,31%. Kadar serat kasar dan protein kasar daun turi semakin meningkat pada diameter batang yang semakin besar ( 3 cm sampai 9 cm). Budidaya tanaman turi untuk tujuan diambil daunnya, sebaiknya setelah tanaman tersebut mencapai diameter batang 6 cm sampai 9 cm.

The research were conducted from September 3rd, 2016 until February 24th, 2017 in Klumprit Village, Sub district of Nusawungu of Cilacap District and Feed Science laboratory, Animal Husbandry, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto. This research aimed to determine the level of crude fiber and crude protein of Sesbania grandiflora leaves from 3, 6 and 9 cm stem diameters. The method used in this research was survey method. The research samples were determined by purposive sampling and the treatments were divided into three levels, i.e. 3, 6 and 9 cm stem diameters which had 3 replication each. The variables observed were crude fibre and crude protein. Data were collected, tabulated and analysed using descriptive analysis, variant analysis, and continued by Honesty Significance Difference (HSD) test at different stem diameters. Based on the analysis results, longer stem diameter increased the levels of crude fibre, but had no significant effect on leaf crude protein content, because the content of crude protein was increased due to the increase of stem diameter. From the results, it was known the leaf crude fibre content of 3, 6 and 9 cm stem diameters. The results showed that the average leaf crude fibre comtent of each Sesbania grandiflora with 3 cm, 6 cm, and 9 cm stem diameters were 13,83%, 16,83% and 17,5%. The average leaf crude protein content of each Sesbania grandifloa with 3 cm, 6 cm, and 9 cm stem diameters were 27,74%, 28,64% and 30,31%. Leaf crude fibre and crude protein contents were increased when the stem were getting bigger (3 cm to 9 cm). Sesbania cultivation for leaf collection were better to be done when the plants attained 6 to 9 cm stem diameters.
