Pegunungan Kulon Progo bagian utara yaitu perbukitan Menoreh  memiliki struktur geologi yang menarik berupa hasil dari vulkanisme dan tektonisme. Daerah penelitian berada di daerah Paripurno, Kecamatan Salaman, Kabupaten Magelang Jawa Tengah.  Paripurno berada pada bagian utara perbukitan Menoreh yang terdapat struktur yang menarik untuk dikaji. Pola tegasan akibat dari kegiatan tektonik maupun vulkanisme diketahui melalui analisis tipe tensor tegasan. Analisis tipe tensor tegasan didapatkan melalui data shear fracture yang diolah menggunakan software Win_Tensor 5.8.2 Hasil pemetaan geologi terdapat litologi Batupasir Eosen Tengah-Eosen Akhir kemudian diatasnya diendapkan litologi Batugamping pada Eosen Akhir. Lava Andesit berada diatas satuan Batugamping  berumur Miosen Akhir, setelah Lava Andesit lalu diendapkan Breksi berumur Miosen Akhir. Intrusi Andesit menerobos satuan sebelumnya pada Miosen Akhir, kemudian disusul Intrusi Dasit. Akibat adanya intrusi menyebabkan satuan Batugamping terubah menjadi Marmer. Satuan Aluvial merupakan satuan termuda. Satuan geomorfologi daerah penelitian terdiri dari Satuan Perbukitan Aliran Lahar Sangat Curam (V11), Satuan Perbukitan Aliran Lava Curam (V9), Satuan Perbukitan Struktural Dikes Curam (S11), Satuan Perbukitan Denudasional Agak Curam (D3), Satuan Dataran Aluvial Landai (F4). Hasil dari analisis menggunakan software Win_Tensor 5.8.2 yaitu daerah penelitian menghasilkan 4 tegasan yaitu Fase I dengan arah tegasan maksimum NW-SE akibat aktifitas vulkanisme, Fase II arah tegasan maksimum N-S akibat dari proses tektonisme sundaland, Fase III arah tegasan maksimum NE-SW akibat dari vulkanisme gunung api kuarter dan terakhir Fase IV dengan arah tegasan maksimum W-E akibat dari tektonik grafitasi.

Kulon Progo mountainous northern part is hilly Menoreh have interesting geological structure in the form of volcanism and tektonisme results. Area of research is in the area Paripurno, District Salaman, Magelang, Central Java. Paripurno located on the northern hills Menoreh contained an interesting structure to be studied. Patterns sharpness result of tectonic activity or volcanism known through the analysis of tensor type of affirmation. Analysis of the type of data obtained through the affirmation tensor shear fracture were processed using software Win_Tensor 5.8.2 geological mapping results are lithological Sandstone Middle Eocene-Late Eocene then deposited thereon in the Late Eocene limestone lithology. Andesite lava is above the Late Miocene limestones unit, after last Andesite Lava deposited Breccia Late Miocene. Andesite intrusion break through the previous unit on the Late Miocene, followed by dacite intrusion. Due to the intrusion caused Limestone unit transformed into marble. Alluvial Unit is a unit of the youngest. Unit geomorphology study area consisted of units of the Hills flow Lahar Very Steep (V11), Unit hills Lava Flow Steep (V9), Unit hills Structural Dikes Steep (S11), Unit hills Denudasional bit steep (D3), the unit Plains Alluvial Ramps (F4) , The results of the analysis using software 5.8.2 Win_Tensor the area of research to produce 4 affirmation that Phase I with maximum sharpness direction NW-SE as a result of volcanic activity, Phase II maximum sharpness NS direction as a result of the process tektonisme Sundaland, Phase III direction NE-SW maximum sharpness due of volcanism volcano last quarter and Phase IV with the direction of maximum sharpness WE result of tectonic gravity.
