Pengaruh Seduhan Biji Kurma (Phoenix dactylifera L.) terhadap Kadar Asam Urat pada Lansia di Desa Gunung Lurah, Cilongok, Banyumas

Latar Belakang: Lansia seringkali mengalami peningkatan kadar asam urat yang disebabkan proses degeneratif dan paparan radikal bebas. Biji kurma (Phoenix dactylifer L.) diketahui mengandung kaya antioksidan seperti flavonoid, vitamin C, tokoferol, dan mineral yang poten untuk menangkal aktivitas radikal bebas di dalam tubuh. Sehingga, peneliti meneliti apakah terdapat pengaruh biji kurma terhadap kadar asam urat lansia. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh biji kurma terhadap kadar asam urat darah lansia. Metodologi: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan rancangan pre-post test with control group design pada 30 lansia. Subjek dibagi ke dalam kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan, masing-masing 15 orang. Kelompok perlakuan diberikan seduhan biji kurma selama 10 hari. Pengambilan darah untuk dilakukan pengukuran kadar asam urat dilakukan pada hari ke-0 (pretest) dan hari ke-10 (posttest). Data dianalisis dengan uji Shapiro-Wilk, uji hipotesis T-Dependent dan T-Independent. Hasil: Rerata kadar asam urat pretest dan postestt kelompok kontrol didapatkan sebesar 6,45 mg/dL dan 6,19 mg/dL, sedangkan untuk kelompok perlakuan rerata kadar asam urat pretest dan posttest sebesar 6,27 mg/dL dan 5,71 mg/dL. Uji T-Dependent pada kelompok perlakuan menunjukkan hasil signifikan (p= 0,002), sehingga H0 ditolak. Analisis uji T-Independent antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan menunjukkan hasil yang tidak signifikan. Kesimpulan: Seduhan biji kurma dapat dikonsumsi untuk menurunkan kadar asam urat lansia. Secara stastik tidak terdapat perbedaan penurunan rerata kadar asam urat darah antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan.

Backgrounds: Elderly often have elevated levels of uric acid, it is caused by degenerative processes and free radicals exposure. Date palm seeds (Phoenix dactylifera L.) is known to contain antioxidants such as flavonoids, vitamin C, tocopherols and minerals that potent to counteract free radicals in the body. Aims: This study aims to determine the effect of date palm seeds on the blood uric acid levels in the elderly. Methods: This study was an quasi experiment using pre-post test with control group design in 30 elderly. Subjects were divided into control and intervention groups, respectively 15 subjects. The intervention group was given a date palm extract for 10 days. Blood sampling to measure uric acid levels performed on day 0 (pretest) and days 10 (posttest). Data were analyzed with the Shapiro-Wilk test, T-Dependent test, and T-Independent test. Results: The means of uric acid level in control group showed 6.45 mg/dL and 6.19 mg/dL in pretest and posttest respectively. The means of uric acid level in intervention group showed 6.27 mg/dL in pretest and 5.71 mg/dL in posttest. T-Dependent test showed a significant result (p= 0.002) in the intervention group, so that H0 was rejected. The mean differences between the control and intervention group were analyzed by T-Independent test and showed no significant result. Conclusions: Date palm seeds can reduce uric acid levels in the elderly. Statistically, there are no differences in the mean reduction in uric acid levels between control and intervention groups.
