PERBANDINGAN EFEKTIVITAS SARI BUAH MARKISA UNGU (Passiflora edulis var edulis) DAN SIMVASTATIN TERHADAP KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN (Rattus norvegicus) MODEL HIPERKOLESTEROLEMIA

Latar Belakang: Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan faktor risiko terjadinya penyakit kardiovaskular seperti jantung koroner dan stroke. Upaya menurunkan kadar kolesterol total secara farmakologi dapat menimbulkan efek samping, sehingga perlu dilakukan pencarian alternatif, salah satunya dengan markisa ungu. Markisa ungu mengandung berbagai bahan bioaktif yang dapat menurunkan kolesterol dalam darah. Tujuan: Mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas sari buah markisa ungu dan simvastatin terhadap kadar kolesterol total tikus putih jantan (Rattus norvegicus) model hiperkolesterolemia. Metode: Objek penelitian 32 ekor tikus putih dibagi ke dalam 4 kelompok perlakuan : Kelompok I (kontrol sehat), kelompok II (kontrol negatif), kelompok III (sari Markisa ungu 4,2 mL/200gram BB/hari), kelompok IV (simvastatin 0,18 mg/200gram BB/hari). Semua hewan coba diinduksi hiperkolesterolemia menggunakan minyak babi 6 mL/200gram BB/hari dan Propiltiourasil (PTU) 12,5 mg/hari yang terbagi dalam dua dosis selama 14 hari kecuali pada kelompok I. Pengambilan darah melalui retro orbital dilakukan pada akhir induksi dan akhir perlakuan untuk diukur kadar kolesterol total. Hasil: Rerata kadar kolesterol total (pretest) kelompok I (63,00 ± 9,20), II (107,00 ± 25,17), III (104,66 ± 20,32), IV (126,00 ± 38,04) dan (posttest) kelompok I (113,00 ± 21,78), II (108,50 ± 36,17), III (84,16 ± 16,11), IV (79,66 ± 11,37). Uji One Way Anova didapatkan hasil p = 0,003. Uji post hoc LSD K1 vs K2 p = 0,630; K1 vs K3 p = 0,030; K1 vs K4 p = 0,014; K2 vs K3 p = 0,079; K2 vs K4 p = 0,038; K3 vs K4 p = 0,079. Uji t-paired test Kelompok I (p = 0,001); II (p = 0,921); III (p = 0,054); IV (p = 0,023). Kesimpulan: Pemberian simvastatin lebih efektif dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol total putih tikus jantan (Rattus norvegicus) model hiperkolesterolemia dibandingkan dengan markisa ungu, namun diantara keduanya tidak terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna.

Background: Hypercholesterolemia is a risk factor for coronary heart disease and stroke. Efforts to reduce total cholesterol pharmacologically may cause side effects in patients, so it is necessary to search for an alternative, one of them with a purple passion fruit. Purple passion fruit contains a variety of bioactive ingredient that can reduce cholesterol in the blood. Purpose: To determine the comparative effectiveness of purple passion fruit and simvastatin on total cholesterol white male rats (Rattus norvegicus) model of hypercholesterolemia. Methods: The object of research 32 rats were divided into 4 groups. Group I (healthy controls), group II (negative controls), Group III (purple passion fruit juice 4.2 mL / 200gram weight / day), Group IV (simvastatin 0.18 mg / 200gram weight / day). All the experimental animals induced hypercholesterolemia using lard 6 mL / 200gram weight / day and Propylthiouracil (PTU) 12.5 mg / day, divided into two doses for 14 days except in group I. Taking blood through retro-orbital done at the end of induction and end treatment to measure total cholesterol levels. Results: The mean levels of total cholesterol (pretest) group I (63.00 ± 9.20), II (107.00 ± 25.17), III (104.66 ± 20.32), IV (126.00 ± 38.04 ) and (posttest) group I (113.00 ± 21.78), II (108.50 ± 36.17), III (84.16 ± 16.11), IV (79.66 ± 11.37). Conclusion: Delivery of simvastatin is more effective in lowering total cholesterol levels of white male rats (Rattus norvegicus) model of hypercholesterolemia compared with a purple passion fruit, but in between there are no significant differences.
