REKRUTMEN KARANG (SCLERACTINIA) PADA TERUMBU BUATAN DAN TERUMBU ALAMI DI PERAIRAN PULAU PARI KEPULAUAN SERIBU, DKI JAKARTA

Pulau Pari termasuk salah satu pulau kecil di Kepulauan Seribu dengan kondisi terumbu karang yang cenderung menurun dari waktu ke waktu. Rekrutmen karang penting karena potensi pemulihan terumbu karang tergantung pada proses rekrutmen karang. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui persentase tutupan karang, kepadatan, keanekaragaman dan kesamaan genus rekrutmen. Persentase tutupan karang menggunakan metode LIT dengan panjang 10 m 3 kali ulangan. Pengamatan rekrutmen karang di terumbu alami menggunakan metode bentik transek kuadrat 1 x 1 m2 dengan 9 kali ulangan. Pengamatan rekrutmen karang di terumbu buatan dilakukan dengan mengamati 6 terumbu buatan. Ukuran karang rekrutmen dibatasi dari ukuran koloni yang dapat diamati secara kasat mata hingga diameter koloni maksimal 10 cm. Persentase tutupan karang 36% dengan kategori sedang. Kepadatan rekrutmen karang di terumbu buatan 2.1 koloni/m2 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kepadatan di terumbu alami 0.9 koloni/m2 dengan kategori sangat rendah. Indeks keanekaragaman rekrutmen karang di terumbu buatan 2.03 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan keanekaragaman di terumbu alami yaitu 1.73 dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Kesamaan genus rekrutmen karang di lokasi penelitian 26,67 % sehingga terdapat perbedaan pada komposisi genus di kedua stasiun tersebut. Tidak ada perbedaan signifikan (α > 0,05) kepadatan maupun keanekaragaman karang rekrutmen di terumbu buatan dan terumbu alami.

Pari Island is one of small island in the Thousand Islands, coral reef condition in this area is likely to decline over time. Coral recruitment is important because the recovery of coral reef depend on coral recruitment process. This study was conducted to determine the percentage of coral live cover, density, diversity and genus similarity of Scleractinia coral recruitment. Observation of percentage live coral cover used the method of Line Intercept Transect (LIT). Observation of coral recruitment in natural reefs used benthic transect method 1 x 1 m2 with 9 replication. Observations on the artificial reef coral recruitment was done by observing the six artificial reefs. The size of recruitment is limited by range which can be observed with eye until maximum 10 cm diameter colony. Percentage coral live cover was 36 % and included in the medium category. The density of coral recruitment on artificial reefs higher at 2.1 colonies/m2 compared with the density of the natural reef, 0.9 colonies/m2 with a very low category. Diversity index of coral recruitment on artificial reefs higher at 2.03 compared to the diversity of the natural reef was 1.73 and included in the medium category. Genus similarity coral recruitment in the study site was 26.67%, so there was a difference in the composition of the genus in both stations. No significant difference (α > 0,05) in the density and diversity of coral recruitment on artificial reefs and natural reef.
