ABSTRAK
Latar Belakang : Motivasi merupakan dorongan yang menyebabkan seseorang melakukan sesuatu. Cerita pengalaman caring merupakan salah satu motivasi ekstrinsik yang diduga dapat menumbuhkan motivasi menjadi perawat.
Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh senior students caring story terhadap motivasi mahasiswa junior jurusan keperawatan untuk menjadi perawat.
Metode : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan one group pre and post test design. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode total populasi. Besar populasi adalah 88 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Analisis data menggunakan statistik korelasi uji t berpasangan.
Hasil : Mayoritas responden berjenis kelamin perempuan sebanyak 75 orang (85,2%), dengan indeks prestasi yaitu 2,76-3,50 (78,4%) sebanyak 69 orang, dan mayoritas responden memilih jurusan keperawatan sebagai pilihan pertama, yaitu sebanyak 65 orang (73,9%). Uji statistiks uji t berpasangan pada motivasi menjadi perawat menunjukkan p value  0,000 dengan mean sebelum adalah 63,62 dan mean setelah adalah 70,59.
Kesimpulan : Terdapat perubahan yang signifikan terhadap motivasi mahasiswa menjadi perawat sebelum dan sesudah diberikan cerita pengalaman caring.

ABSTRACT
Background: Motivation is an impulse that causes someone to do something. The story of caring experience is one of extrinsic motivation that can allegedly increase motivation to be a nurse. 
Objective: This research aimed to determine the influence of students caring story of senior on motivation of nursing department junior student to be a nurse. 
Method: This research is a quantitative research with one group pre and post test design approach. The sampling in this research used total population. The population size was 88 respondents who met the inclusion criteria. Analysis of data used statistical correlation of paired t-test. 
Result: The majority of respondents were female, it is 75 students (85,2%), with GPA of 2,76 to 3,50 (78,4%) is 69 students, and the majority of respondents chose nursing department as the first choice with the number of 65 students (73,9%). The statistical paired t-test on the motivation of becoming a nurse indicated p value of 0,000, while the mean before the test was 63,62 and the mean after the test was 70,59. 
Conclusion: There was a significant change in the motivation of students to be a nurse before and after the story of caring experience.
