Kabupaten Kebumen memiliki wilayah lautan yang luas khususnya Kebumen bagian selatan, kekayaan laut yang melimpah sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat khususnya masyarakat nelayan, namun pada kenyataannya masyarakat nelayan termasuk masyarakat miskin. Kecamatan Ayah adalah salah satu kecamatan di Kabupaten Kebumen dengan hasil laut paling berpotensi , ada empat desa nelayan di Kecamatan Ayah dan Desa Argopeni adalah desa dengan jumlah nelayan paling banyak. Nelayan di Desa Argopeni termasuk nelayan miskin. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut maka penelitian ini berjudul : Analisi Pendapatan dan Pola Konsumsi Rumah Tangga Nelayan di Desa Argopeni Kecamatan Ayah Kabupaten Kebumen. 
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah  untuk mengetahui cukup atau tidak pendapatan nelayan untuk konsumsi keluarga, mengethui pola konsumsi keluarga nelayan di Desa Argopeni Kecamatan Ayah dan mengetahui kemiskinan rumah tangga nelayan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survey pada nelayan di Desa Argopeni Kecamatan Ayah.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan analisis data menunjukan bahwa: (1) pendapatan melaut rumah tangga responden tdak mencukupi kebutuhan konsumsi, (2) rata-rata pengeluaran rumah tangga responden sebagian besar dialokasikan untuk kebutuhan konsumsi pangan, (3) dilihat dari sisi pengeluaran rumah tangga nelayan di Desa Argopeni Kecamatan Ayah tidak termasuk keluarga miskin.
 Implikasi dari kesimpulan di atas yaitu bagi responden yang pendapatannya belum bisa mencukupi kebutuhan sehari-hari keluarga dapat diatasi dengan melakukan penghematan dan lebih kreatif dalam memanfaatkan alam sekitar sehingga mengurangi biaya konsumsi, sebaiknya responden diberi sosialisasi tentang pentingnya pola konsumsi yang seimbang antara konsumsi pangan dan nonpangan serta lebih diperhatikan lagi tentang pendidikan anak-anaknya sehingga maindset mereka bisa berubah, sebaiknya nelayan diberi fasilitas-fasilitas yang menunjang kinerja nelayan seperti jaminan kesehatan, jaminan keselamatan keja dan lain-lain sehingga kesejahteraannya meningkat.

Kebumen has vast areas of sea especially the southern part of Kebumen, abundant marine wealth is very useful for people, especially the fishing community , but in fact the fishermen community including the poor . Ayah is one of the districts in Kebumen with the most potential of marine products , there are four fishing villages in the district and Argopeni village was the village with the most number of fishermen . Fishermen in the village Argopeni including poor fishermen . Based on this background, the title of this research is: Analysis of Income and Consumption Pattern of Household Fishermen in Argopeni  village, Ayah District, Kebumen Region.

The purpose of this research is to know the fishing income enough or not enough for family consumption, to know consumption pattern of family fisherman in Argopeni village and know the poverty of households of fishermen. This research is a survey research on the fishing village of Argopeni Sub-district.

Based on the results of research and analysis of the data indicates that: (1) the income of the household respondent refuses to sea fullfill the needs of consumption, (2) the average household spending of the respondents mostly allocated for food consumption needs, (3) viewed from the side of the household spending of the fishermen in the village of Argopeni, Ayah does not include poor families.
The implications of the above conclusions, namely that its revenues for the respondent could not suffice the family's daily needs could be addressed by making savings and more creative in utilizing natural surroundings so as to reduce the cost of consumption, should the respondents be given socialization about the importance of a balanced between consumption patterns of food consumption and nonpangan as well as more note again about upbringing so that they can change, maindset should fishermen be given facilities that support the performance of fishermen like health coverage serious safety assurance, and others so their wealfare are increase.
