Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)

Tujuan penelitian yaitu mempelajari hubungan ukuran linier tubuh (panjang badan, lingkar dada dan tinggi pundak) dengan bobot badan Domba Garut jantan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survey penetapan besaran sampel berdasarkan metode purposive random sampling sebanyak 30 ekor Domba Garut jantan dewasa. Peubah yang diamati yaitu tinggi pundak (X1), panjang badan (X2), lingkar dada (X3) dan bobot badan. Hasil analisis regresi berganda ukuran linier tubuh diperoleh persamaan Y = 47,005 – 0,615 X1 + 0,027 X2 + 0,661 X3. Hasil analisis regresi berganda menunjukan bahwa ukuran linier tubuh (panjang badan, tinggi pundak, lingkar dada) secara bersama sama tidak berhubungan (P>0,05). Hasil analisis regresi berganda uji “t” parsial dari keempat varibel independen, panjang badan dan tinggi pundak tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05). Sedangkan untuk lingkar dada berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05). Kesimpulan lingkar dada memiliki hubungan positif terhadap bobot badan sehingga bisa digunakan untuk menduga bobot badan domba Garut.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between the linear body sizes (body length, girth, and weither height) and the body weight of Garut rams. The 30 Garut rams used as the research materials were selected by a survey based on a purposive random sampling method. The research varibles were the weither height (X1), body length (X2), girth (X3), and body weight. The multiple regression analysis on the linear body sizes formulated an equation Y= 47,005 – 0,615 X1 + 0,027 X2 + 0,661 X3 resulting that the linear body as a whole is not significantly correlated (P>0.05) to the body weight. The multiple regression analysis of the partial T-test on the four independent variables shows that even though the body length and shoulder height are not significantly correlated (P>0.05) to the body weight, the girth is significantly correlated (P<0.05). It can be concluded that the girth was positively related to the body weight and, therefore, can be used to estimate the body weight of Garut rams.
