The role of law enforcement agencies, especially the police is very important in the treatment of children in conflict with the law. Police became the first side to deal directly with ABH and became party leader in the handling of children in conflict with the law. This is the background of this research. The purpose of this study to determine the perception and handling of Purwokerto Regional Police investigators children in conflict with the law and understanding its laws and regulations. Research using qualitative research methods descriptive. The research objectives are Purwokerto Territory police investigators were selected using purposive sampling technique. 
The results showed that the police investigation Purwokerto Regional Police have the perception that must be protected children in conflict with the law see the causes and factors of the child misbehaves. Investigators are always seeking mechanisms Restorative Justice by way of diversion, besides the investigator always contact the relevant parties during the process of investigation children in conflict with the law like BAPAS and PPT-PKBGA. However, some investigators do not fully understand the Law of the Child Criminal Justice System 11 2012 that lays out in detail the guidelines in the handling of children in conflict with the law. Besides obstacles in the effort because of the diversion of the child victims who can not accept the actions of the child and keep processing it into legal channels, or no agreement in Restorative Justice at the time in the Police. 
Governments and their staffs need to activate socializing Law Child Criminal Justice System 11 In 2012 the law enforcement agencies, especially the Police in order to run optimally, as well as protection against ABH can go as expected. Should Restorative Justice and diversion enforced on children in conflict with the law, of course, with certain classifications

Peran penegak hukum khususnya polisi sangat penting dalam penanganan anak yang berkonflik dengan hukum (ABH). Polisi menjadi pihak pertama yang berhadapan langsung dengan ABH serta menjadi pihak terdepan dalam penanganan ABH. Hal ini yang melatarbelakangi dilakukan penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui persepsi dan penanganan penyidik Polsek Wilayah Purwokerto terhadap ABH serta pemahaman peraturan perundang-undangannya. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Sasaran penelitian adalah penyidik Polsek Wilayah Purwokerto yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyidik Kepolisian Polsek Wilayah Purwokerto mempunyai persepsi bahwa ABH harus dilindungi melihat sebab dan faktor sang anak berperilaku menyimpang. Penyidik selalu mengupayakan mekanisme Restorative Justice dengan cara diversi, selain itu penyidik selalu menghubungi pihak terkait saat proses penyidikan ABH seperti BAPAS dan PPT-PKBGA. Namun, beberapa penyidik belum memahami betul Undang-Undang Sistem Peradilan Pidana Anak No.11 Tahun 2012 yang secara rinci menjabarkan pedoman dalam penanganan ABH. Selain itu kendala dalam upaya diversi sang anak dikarenakan pihak korban yang tidak bisa menerima tindakan sang anak dan tetap memprosesnya ke jalur hukum, atau tak ada kesepakatan dalam Restorative Justice pada saat di Kepolisian. Pemerintah beserta jajarannya perlu menggiatkan sosialisasi Undang-Undang Sistem Peradilan Pidana Anak No.11 Tahun 2012 kepada para penegak hukum khususnya Kepolisian agar dapat berjalan optimal, serta perlindungan terhadap ABH bisa berjalan sesuai yang diharapkan. Sudah seharusnya Restorative Justice dan diversi diberlakukan pada ABH, tentunya dengan klasifikasi tertentu.
