PENGARUH KONSENTRASI EKSTRAK DAUN SIRIH DAN NIRA TEBU TERHADAP KESEGARAN BUNGA POTONG KRISAN (Crysanthemum sp)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji: 1) pengaruh ekstrak daun sirih dan nira tebu terhadap masa kesegaran bunga potong krisan; 2) konsentrasi ekstrak daun sirih dan nira tebu yang sesuai untuk menjaga kesegaran bunga potong krisan. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok Lengkap. Faktor yang dicoba terdiri atas: (1) konsentrasi ekstrak daun sirih yaitu 0%, 10%, 20 % dan 30%, (2) konsentrasi nira tebu yaitu 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa larutan ekstrak daun sirih 20% dan 30%, serta nira tebu 15% dapat memperlambat kelayuan bunga potong krisan. Pemberian ekstrak daun sirih 30% dan nira tebu 10% dapat mempertahankan vase life sampai 19 hari.

This research aims to assess: 1) the effect of betel leaf extracts and sugarcane sap to the freshness of chrysanthemum; 2) the concentration of betel leaf extracts and sugarcane sap suitable for keeping the freshness of chrysanthemum. The experimental design used was complete randomized block design. Factors tested were:(1) the concentration of betel leaf extract 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%, (2) the concentration of sugarcane sap 0%, 5%, 10 %, 15%. The results showed that the betel leaf extract 20%, 30% and 15% sugarcane sap inhibited the chrysanthemum cut flower wilting. Betel leaf extract 30% and sugarcane sap 10% maintained the vase life up to 19 days.
