PENGARUH MUSIM DAN BANGSA TERHADAP KONSENTRASI SEMEN SEGAR DAN POST THAWING MOTILITY RECOVERY RATE PADA SAPI FRIESIAN HOLSTEIN, SIMMENTAL DAN LIMOUSIN

Tujuan penelitian adalah mengkaji pengaruh musim dan bangsa terhadap konsentrasi semen segar dan post thawing motility recovery rate sapi Friesian Holstein, Simmental dan Limousin. Penelitian menggunakan metode survey dengan stratified random sampling, sehingga sampel yang digunakan untuk masing-masing bangsa yakni Friesian Holstein 8 ekor, Simmental 8 ekor dan Limousin 8 ekor. Data sampel September 2013-Agustus 2014 diambil dari Balai Besai Inseminasi Buatan Singosari Malang. Variabel yang diamati yaitu konsentrasi semen segar dan motility recovery rate. Pengaruh musim dikategorikan menjadi 6 grup, yaitu awal musim hujan, pertengahan musim hujan, akhir musim hujan, awal musim kemarau, pertengahan musim kemarau, dan akhir musim kemarau. Data dianalisis menggunakan repeated random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa musim dan bangsa tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) terhadap konsentrasi semen segar dan post thawing motility recovery rate. Konsentrasi semen segar tertinggi untuk 3 bangsa sapi dicapai pada pertengahan musim hujan dengan rata-rata sapi FH 1324,15 x 106/ml, Limousin 1292,47 x 106/ml, Simmental 1317,14 x 106/ml. Konsentrasi semen segar terendah dicapai pada pertengahan musim kemarau dengan rata-rata sapi FH 997,43 x 106/ml, Limousin 1014,28 x 106/ml, Simmental 1092,71 x 106/ml. Post thawing motility recovery rate tertingi untuk tiga bangsa sapi dicapai pada awal musim hujan dengan rata-rata sapi FH 63,97%, Limousin 64,29%, Simmental 63,78%. Post thawing motility recovery rate terendah dicapai pada akhir musim kemarau dengan rata-rata sapi FH 60,16%, Limousin 58,38%, Simmental 58,68%.

The purposes of this research is to examine the influence of the season and breed on the concentration of fresh semen and post thawing motility recovery rate of Friesian Holstein, Simmental, and Limousin cattle. Using a survey method with stratified random sampling towards 8 cattle from each breed, this research had collected the data samples from September 2013 to August 2014 at Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan Singosari (Singosari National Artificial Insemination Centre) Malang. The observed variables were fresh semen concentration and post thawing motility recovery rate. The influence of the season were differed into 6 groups, namely the beginning of rainy season, the middle of rainy season, the end of the rainy season, the beginning of dry season, the middle of dry season, and the end of dry season. The data was analyzed by using the repeated random sampling method. The results showed that the season and breed had no effect (P>0,05) to the fresh semen concentration and post thawing motility recovery rate. The highest average concentration of fresh semen of 3 breed cattle was obtained in the mid rainy season with FH 1324,15 x 106/ml, Limousin 1292,47 x 106/ml, Simmental 1317,14 x 106/ml. The lowest average concentration of fresh semen was obtained in the mid dry season with FH 997,43 x 106/ml, Limousin 1014,28 x 106/m, Simmental 1092,71 x 106/ml. The highest post thawing motility recovery rate of three breeds was achieved at the beginning of the rainy season with an average of FH 63,97%, Limousin 64,29%, Simmental 63,78%. The lowest post thawing motility recovery rate achieved at the end of the dry season with an average FH 60,16%, Limousin 58,38%, Simmental 58,68%.
