Penelitian berjudul “Kontribusi Usaha Ternak Domba Terhadap Pendapatan Keluarga Peternak di Kabupaten Banjarnegara”, dilaksanakan tanggal 10 Agustus 2015 – 14 September 2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1). Mengetahui kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak domba terhadap pendapatan keluarga peternak; 2). Menganalisis pengaruh jumlah ternak, jumlah hijauan, pendidikan dan lama beternak terhadap kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak domba di Kabupaten Banjarnegara. Penelitian dilaksanakan menggunakan metode survey, sampel wilayah diambil menggunakan metode Stratified Random Sampling dengan tinggi tempat menjadi dasar penyusunan strata. Masing masing strata dipilih 20 persen wilayah kecamatan secara random, sehingga terpilih 9 kecamatan. Sampel responden diambil dengan menggunakan metode  Quota Sampling dengan jumlah antara 18 - 20  peternak dari masing-masing kecamatan terpilih sehingga jumlah responden 170 peternak. Kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak domba terhadap penpadatan keluarga dianalisis, dengan membadingkan pendapatan usaha ternak domba dengan pendapatan keluarga dikalikan seratus persen. Sedangkan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor pengaruh jumlah ternak, jumlah hijauan, pendidikan dan lama beternak terhadap kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak domba dianalisis dengan model regresi berganda. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa usaha ternak domba di Kabupaten Banjarnegara memberikan kontribusi terhadap pendapatan keluarga sebesar 5,96 persen yaitu sebesar Rp. 1.874.168/tahun dan kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak domba dipengaruhi oleh jumlah ternak dan jumlah pakan hijauan. Kesimpulan : 1). Usaha ternak domba di Kabupaten Banjarnegara memberikan kontribusi terhadap pendapatan keluarga relatif kecil, hal ini disebabkan oleh skala usaha yang relatif kecil 6,30 STK; (Satuan Ternak Kecil) 2). Kontribusi pendapatan usaha ternak domba dapat ditingkatkan dengan menambah skala usaha dan mengefisienkan biaya pengadaan hijauan.

This research, entitled Sheep Livestock Business Contributions to Family Income of Breeders in Banjarnegara District, had been conducted from August 10th to September 14th, 2015 aiming to determine the business contributions to their family income and to analyze the of the number of livestock, the number of forage feed, breeders’ academic backrgound, and experience in raising their sheep to the family income of sheep breeders in the district. This experimental research was conducted by using a survey method and a stratified random sampling method to select the sample areas where the rank of the place formed the basis of strata. Each stratum was randomly selected 20 percent of the sub-districts, which means there were 9 selected sub-districts. The respondents were selected by using a quota sampling which resulted in 18 to 20 selected farmers from each 9 sub-districts so that the total of respondents were 170 breeders. The contribution of the sheep livestock business to the family income was analyzed by comparing the operating revenues of sheep with the family income, and then was multiplied with one hundred percent. To determine the influence of the number of livestock, the amount of forage, academic background and raising experience to the revenue was by using multiple regression models. The analysis shows that the sheep breeding business in the district contributes 5.96 percent to the family income, or 1,874,168 IDR/ year, in which the number of livestock and the amount of forage feed are the most influential factors. This research concludes that 1) the contribution of sheep breeding business in Banjarnegara district to the family income is relatively small. This is due to the relatively small scale of business which is 6.30 small livestock units, and that 2) the contribution can be improved by increasing the scale of business and by making the foraging cost more efficient.
