Abstrak (Bhs. Indonesia)

Penelitian dengan judul “Identitas Pelaku Crossgender di Kalangan Cosplayer Indonesia” ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan mengenai 1) makna peran cosplayer crossgender; 2) eksistensi pelaku cosplayer crossgender; 3) motivasi dari para pelaku cosplayer crossgender; dan 4) bagaimana para pelaku cosplayer crossgender menghadapi tekanan-tekanan dari anggota sosial lain.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif  dengan pendekatan etnometodologi dan teori yang digunakan dalam menganalisis penelitian ini adalah teori identitas diri, teori gender dan sex, teori interaksi simbolik, dan teori motivasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan antara lain adalah kuesioner terbuka, wawancara mendalam, dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan merupakan analisis data model interaktif yang didalamnya meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa 1) makna peran cosplayer crossgender adalah sebatas pada hobi dan tuntutan profesionalitas semata. 2) Eksistensi pelaku cosplayer crossgender khususnya pelaku wanita lebih tinggi dan mereka menunjukkan eksistensi tersebut dengan usaha yang mereka lakukan. 3) Para pelaku memiliki motivasi mendalam, mencari rasa aman dan nyaman, ingin mendapatkan apresiasi dan pengakuan serta ingin menunjukkan prestasi dan juga eksistensinya sebagai cosplayer crossgender. 4) Cara para pelaku cosplay crossgender dalam menghadapi tekanan dari anggota sosial lainnya adalah dengan bersikap acuh tak acuh dan mengabaikan perkataan orang, berusaha menunjukkan prestasi mereka dan menjaga sikap dalam bergaul.

The research entitled "The Identity of Cross-Gender Cosplayers among cosplayers in Indonesia" aims to describe: 1) the meaning of their role (cross-gender cosplayers); 2) the existence of cross-gender cosplayers; 3) the motivation of the cross-gender cosplayers; and 4) how the cross-gender cosplayers face the pressures from other people.
This research used qualitative descriptive method with ethnometodology approach. This research used identity, gender and sex, symbolic interaction and motivation theory to analyze the data. Data collection techniques that was used were open questionnaire, interview and observation. Data analysis technique that was used is interactive model technique, they are data collection, data reduction, presentation and conclusion.
Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that 1) the meaning of cross-gender cosplayers are just a hobby and to be professional cross-gender cosplyers; 2) the existence of women cross-gender cosplayers is higher　more than male, they show the existence from their effort. 3) the cross-gender cosplayers have profound motivation, seek security and comfort, want to gain an appreciation and recognition as well as achievement and also want to show their existence as cross-gender cosplayer. 4) Cross-gender cosplayers just calm down and do not care about what people are saying, they try to show their achievements and having good behavior in socializing.
