Banjarnegara merupakan salah satu Kabupaten di Provinsi Jawa Tengah yang Incidence Rate kasus demam berdarah dengue (DBD) cenderung meningkat setiap tahunnya. Diduga peningkatan kasus DBD ini dikarenakan keberadaan perkebunan salak yang menjadi tempat peristarahatan dan tempat perindukan bagi nyamuk Aedes sp.. Kemampuan Aedes sp. sebagai vektor mampu menyebar hingga berbagai wilayah kecamatan di Banjarnegara. Diduga, penyebaran Aedes sp. juga meningkatkan peluang bagi tungau parasit untuk bertemu dan menginfeksi vektor tersebut. Meningkatnya peluang bertemu dan menginfeksi menyebabkan prevalensi tungau parasit pada Aedes sp. kemungkinan juga bertambah. Prevalensi atau peluang bagi tungau untuk menginfeksi nyamuk juga dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan.  Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan prevalensi tungau parasit pada larva nyamuk Aedes sp. di daerah endemis DBD di Kabupaten Banjarnegara. Metode yang digunakan survei dengan teknik pengambilan sampel secara stratified random sampling. Lokasi ditentukan berdasarkan tingkat endemisitas demam berdarah tertinggi di Kabupaten Banjarnegara yaitu Kecamatan Banjarnegara dan Kecamatan Madukara, sedangkan jumlah sampel yang dibutuhkan sebagai sampel adalah 800 individu. Sampel tersebut diperoleh dari setiap strata. Parameter utama yang diamati adalah jumlah individu seluruh stadium larva yang terinfeksi tungau, sedangkan variabel pendukung yang diukur yaitu temperatur/suhu, DO, pH air dan curah hujan. Metode analisis menggunakan rumus prevalensi yaitu jumlah larva yang terparasit tungau dibagi jumlah larva yang diperiksa dikali 100%. Hasil penelitian diperoleh tiga individu tungau parasit dari 837 sampel larva nyamuk Aedes sp. yang teridentifikasi sebagai Famili Hydrachnidae, Pionidae dan Hydryphantidae. Nilai prevalensi tertinggi yaitu Kecamatan Banjarnegara 0,47% dan  Kecamatan Madukara 0,28% dan prevalensi untuk Kabupaten Banjarnegara 0,35%.

Banjarnegara is one of the districts in Central Java province with Incidence Rate of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) tends to increase every year. Presumably, dengue cases increased because the zalacca plantations which became the rest area and breeding places for the Aedes sp. The ability of Aedes sp. as vectors it capable to spread to different areas of the districts in Banjarnegara. Allegedly, the spread of Aedes sp. also increases opportunities for parasitic mites to meet and infect the vectors. Increased opportunities to meet and infect cause the prevalence of parasitic mites on Aedes sp. also increased, probably. Prevalence or opportunities for mites to infect mosquitoes can also be influenced by environmental factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of parasitic mites on the larvae of Aedes sp. in endemic areas of dengue in Banjarnegara district. The method used was survey sampling technique with stratified random sampling. The location was determined on the highest levels of endemicity of dengue fever in the District Banjarnegara, Banjarnegara subdistrict and Madukara subdistrict, while the samples required were 800 individuals. The sample was obtained from each stratum. The main variables measured were the number of larva infected by mites, while secondary variables of the measured variable is the temperature, DO, pH of water, and rainfall. Analysis carried out using the formula prevalence, which the number of infected larvae divided by the number of larvae were examined, and multiplied by 100%. The results shows three parasitic mite individuals obtained of 837 samples of larvae of Aedes sp, identified belong to Family of Hydrachnidae, Pionidae, and Hydryphantidae. The highest prevalence values were subdistrict of Banjarnegara 0.47% and subdistrict of Madukara 0.28%, and 0.35% in Banjarnegara district.
