Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji praktik money politics dalam Pemilihan Umum Legislatif 2014 yang ada di perkumpulan majelis ta’lim Desa Kaliwadas, Kecamatan Bumiayu, Kabupaten Brebes dan pemaknaan anggota majelis ta’lim terhadap money politics tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskripttif, dengan sasaran penelitian pengurus dan anggota Majelis Ta’lim. Money politics terjadi di Desa Kaliwadas, menggunakan bermacam-macam modus, seperti pemberian sembako,uang, bantuan perlengkapan mushola, pakaian, dan lain-lain yang dilakukan oleh para calon legislatif. Modus lain, calon legislatif menyediakan kendaraan untuk membawa anggota pengajian dan menggiring ke rumah calon legislatif untuk pengajian. Pada saat ceramah diberi pesan khusus untuk memilih calon legislatif tersebut. Para pengurus maupun anggota Majelis Ta’lim memaknai pemberian dari calon legislatif sebagai hadiah atau pemberian bukan sebagai bentuk money politics seperti risywah atau suap. Dalam upaya menekan praktik money politics perlu ada sosialisasi dari pihak penyelenggara pemilihan umum terkait dengan pelanggaran money politics kepada seluruh masyarakat tak terkecuali pengurus dan anggota majelis ta’lim.

. The purpose of this study was to examine the practice of money politics in the 2014 Legislative Election in association informal gatherings Kaliwadas Village, District Brits, Brebes and meaning members of the informal gatherings such money politics. This study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, with the goal of research management and members of the Assembly Ta'lim. Money politics occurred in the village of Kaliwadas, using various modes, such as the provision of food, money, relief supplies mosque, clothes, and others were carried out by the candidates. Another mode, candidates provide a vehicle to bring the members study and led to the house candidates for the study. At the time of the lecture was given special messages to select the candidates. The administrators and members of the Assembly Ta'lim interpret the provision of candidates as a gift or giving not as a form of money politics as risywah or bribes. In an effort to suppress the practice of money politics should be no dissemination of the organizers of election-related violations of money politics to the entire community is no exception management and members of Islamic study groups.
