BUSINESS ANALYSIS OF QUAIL LAYER FARMING AT SUMBANG SUB-DISTRICT IN BANYUMAS REGENCY

The study entitled “BUSINESS ANALYSIS OF QUAIL LAYER FARMING AT SUMBANG SUB-DISTRICT IN BANYUMAS REGENCY”. Some purpose of the research are to find out the level of bussiness efficiency and to find out the sensitivity level of business revenue of quail layer farming at Sumbang sub-district in Banyumas Regency on the price of animal feed and mortality level. Research use is a survey method, the objects of research were efficiency and sensitivity analysis of quail layer farming at Sumbang Sub-district. The hypotheses of the research are the business of quail layer farming at Sumbang Sub-district has been efficient and business revenue of quail layer farming at Sumbang Sub-district is sensitive with the increase of quail feed and mortality level. Analysis methods that are used in the research are tabulation analysis through the calculation of revenue and cost (R/C) ratio and sensitivity analysis. The result of this research are data analysis, it could be concluded that in a business condition normally, the quail layer farming at Sumbang Sub-district was efficient. So, it was worth to be developed continuously. The business revenue of quail layer farming at Sumbang Sub-district was sensitive with the level of quail mortality, but not sensitive with increasing the price of quail feed. This was because the price of egg and the culling price of quail layer as a source of farmers’ income could be raised or tended to increase in accordance with the inflation rate. The Implications of the research are an effort to expand it is business, the farmers of quail layer farming at Sumbang Sub-district should still run their business farming by continuing to improve the effectiveness and efficiency supported by the innovative and professional management as well as to expand their business network through building the cooperation with the government institutions of animal husbandry, banking institutions and the other stakeholders in the environment of quail layer business. Sub-district should be able to anticipate and reduce the level of quail mortality because it will influence significantly their business revenue level. The ways can be done are by providing the quail feed, vitamins and vaccines in accordance with the advice of experts in the field of quail layer farm. Additionally, the farmers should be selective and precise in purchasing the day-old-quail (DOQ) to be farmed.
