ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini berjudul The Anarchist Portrayed in Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan bentuk-bentuk anarkisme yang digambarkan dalam novel The Dispossessed karya Ursula K. Le Guin. Dalam penelitian ini, metode deskriptif qualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Sumber data dalam penelitian adalah novel The Dispossessed karya Ursula K. Le Guin dimana isu anarkisme menjadi topik utama yang di bahas dalam penelitian ini.
Terdapat beberapa langkah yang dilakukan dalam menganalisis dan mengetahui jawaban dari pertanyaan yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini. Pertama adalah menentukan novel yang akan dianalisis yakni novel The Dispossessed, kemudian langkah kedua adalah mendapatkan unsur-unsur penting dalam novel menggunakan unsur karya sastra dan mengelompokan data yang berhubungan dengan isu Anarkisme. Langkah ketiga adalah menganalisis data menggunakan pendekatan filosofis, khususnya mengenai isu anarkisme. Dengan mengetahui hasil akhir dari analisis, maka langkah terakhir yaitu menyusun kesimpulan.
Dari hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada tiga jenis anarkisme dalam konteks klasik anarkisme yang ditemukan di novel yaitu anarkis-komunisme, anarko-syndikalisme, dan anarka-feminisme, serta jenis anarkisme baru yang dipraktikan oleh tokoh utama dalam novel yang kemudian disebut complementary anarchy. Dalam novel ini ditemukan beberapa bentuk opresi yang dilakukan otoritas terhadap masyarakat antara lain pengusiran, sensor, monopoli, keabsolutan, opresi terhadap penggunaan bahasa, dan opresi dalam agama. Serta paparan bentuk sosial yang ada di planet uras dan anares yang menggambarkan situasi terbentuknya koloni anarkis.

ABSTRACT

The research entitled The Anarchist Portrayed in Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed is aimed to find out the forms of anarchism portrayed in Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed. In this research, descriptive qualitative method is used to analyze the data. The data source of this study is Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed where anarchim issue becomes the main topic of discussion in this research.
There are steps done in extracting and analyzing the novel as the answer of the research question. The first is determining the novel which is going to be analyzed that is the Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed and the second is obtaining the important elements of the novel by using literary devices and then classifying the data related to the issues of anarchism. The third is analyzing the data by connecting them with the philosophical approach, especially those related to the issues of anarchism. By finding out the final result of the analysis, the last step is drawing conclusion.
From the research, it can be concluded that there are three kinds of anarchism which were found in the novel, they are anarchist-communism, anarcho-syndicalism, and anarka-feminism. In addition, there is also a new form of anarchism practiced by the main character namely complementary anarchy. There are also several oppressions from the authority to the society, such as expulsion, censorship, monopoly, absolution, oppression to the use of language, and oppression to the religion. The last, there is also social form explanation in Uras and Anares planet that was portraying the situation of anarchist colony forming.
