PENGARUH KOMIK MENSTRUASI TERHADAP KESIAPAN MENARCHE SISWI SD KECAMATAN MREBET KABUPATEN PURBALINGGA

Latar belakang: Menarche merupakan proses fisiologis yang datangnya tidak dapat diprediksi waktunya sehingga seringkali menimbulkan ketidaksiapan. Ibu sebagai sumber informasi utama cenderung tabu untuk membicarakan tentang menstruasi dengan anaknya. Salah satu media edukasi yang efektif, menyenangkan dan mudah dipahami oleh anak usia sekolah adalah komik. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh komik menstruasi terhadap tingkat kesiapan menarche siswi SD di Kecamatan Mrebet Kabupaten Purbalingga. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan randomized control group pretest posttest design. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswi kelas 4, 5, 6 SD berusia 9-13 tahun yang belum menarche. Jumlah sampel pada kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol masing-masing sebanyak 35 orang. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu uji Wilcoxon dan uji Mann Whitney. Hasil: Sebelum diberi komik, sebanyak 94,3% responden siap dan hanya 5,7% responden yang sangat siap. Setelah diberi komik berubah menjadi 48,6% responden sangat siap dan 51,4% responden siap. Uji Wilcoxon pada kelompok intrvensi menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kesiapan menarche sebelum dan sesudah diberi komik (p=0,000). Hasil uji Mann Whitney menunjukan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok intervensi dan kelompok kontrol (p=0,000). Kesimpulan: Ada pengaruh komik menstruasi terhadap tingkat kesiapan menarche siswi SD di Kecamatan Mrebet Kabupaten Purbalingga. Saran: Perlu penelitian lanjutan untuk mengetahui evektifitas komik jika dibandingkan dengan media lain seperti booklet, leaflet, atau lembar balik.

Background of the Study: Menarche happens in unpredictable time, so it often causes unprepared situation. However, mother as the main informant considers sharing about menstruation with her daughter is taboo. Because of this condition, we need an effective, enjoyable, and easy understanding education media for the teenagers. One of media which completed these requirements is comic. Purpose of the Study: The purpose of the study was to know the influence of menstruation comic to the menarche readiness of Elementary female students in Mrebet sub district, Purbalingga regency. Method: This study used randomized control group pretest posttest design. The samples of this study were Elementary student grade 4, 5, and 6 in the age range 9-13 years old and did not have menarche experience. The sample amount of intervention and control groups are 35 students each. Analysis used in this study was Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. Result: Before the researcher gave comic to the students, there are 94,3 % respondent which was ready and only 5,7 % respondent which was very ready. After they got the comic, there is 48,6% respondent which was very ready and 51,4% respondent which is ready. Wilcoxon test did in the intervention group showed that there was significant difference between menarche readiness before and after got comic (p=0,000). The result of Mann Whitney test showed that there was significant difference between intervention and control groups. Conclusion: Menstruation comic has influence to the menarche readiness of Elementary female students in Mrebet sub district, Purbalingga Regency. Suggestion: We need a further research to know the effectiveness of the comic compared by other media like booklet, leaflet, or flip chart.
