PENGARUH LAMA WAKTU POST MORTEM TERHADAP ABNORMALITAS, VIABILITAS, DAN AGLUTINASI SPERMATOZOA PADA CAPUT DAN CAUDA EPIDIDYMIS SAPI SIMMENTAL

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh perbedaan lama penyimpanan semen sapi Simmental post mortem terhadap abnormalitas, viabilitas, dan aglutinasi spermatozoa. Materi penelitian adalah semen dari 7 buah epididymis sapi Simmental post mortem yang diperoleh dari Rumah Pemotongan Hewan (RPH) Mersi, Purwokerto. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental laboratorium menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan dilanjutkan dengan Uji Beda Nyata Jujur (BNJ). Perlakuan yang diujicobakan yaitu lama penyimpanan (P1 = 2 jam, P2 = 3 jam, dan P3 = 4 jam) semen sapi Simmental post mortem. Peubah yang diamati adalah abnormalitas, viabilitas dan aglutinasi. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa lama penyimpanan semen pada caput dan cauda epididymis sapi Simmental post mortem berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap abnormalitas, viabilitas, dan aglutinasi spermatozoa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyimpanan terbaik dengan waktu 2 jam post mortem yaitu abnormalitas pada bagian caput (14,7%) dan cauda (14,9%) ; viabilitas pada bagian caput (82,9%) dan cauda (84,1%) ; serta aglutinasi pada bagian caput dan cauda (1,3).

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of different storage time of semen of post mortem Simmental bull on the abnormality, viability, and agglutination of spermatozoa. The research material was the semen of 7 pieces epididymis of post mortem simmental bull obtained from abattoirs (RPH) Mersi, Purwokerto. The research methods used was experimental laboratory using completely randomized design (CRD) and continued with Honestly Significant Difference Test (HSD). The tested treatments were : the storage time (P1 = 2 hours, P2 = 3 hours, and P3 = 4 hours) semen of post mortem Simmental bull. Variables measured was abnormality, viability and agglutination. Statistical analysis showed that the storage time of semen on the caput and cauda epididymis of post mortem Simmental bull was significantly different (P <0.05) abnormality, viability, and agglutination of spermatozoa. The results showed that 2 hours post mortem gave the best storage time whith abnormality of the caput (14,7%) and cauda (14,9%); viability of the caput (82,9%) and cauda (84,1%); as well as agglutination of the caput and cauda (1,3).
