Penelitian dilaksanakan tanggal 19 Maret 2015 sampai dengan 9 April 2015 di Kecamatan Kaligesing Kabupaten Purworejo. Tujuan penelitian adalah : 1) Menganalisis kinerja ekonomi melalui analisis pendapatan, BEP, dan efisiensi ekonomi. 2) Menganalisis pengaruh jumlah ternak, usia peternak, tingkat pendidikan peternak, dan pengalaman beternak terhadap pendapatan, BEP, dan efisiensi ekonomi pada usaha ternak Kambing PE di Kecamatan Kaligesing Kabupaten Purworejo. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei. Sasaran penelitian adalah peternak Kambing PE di Kecamatan Kaligesing, Kabupaten Purworejo. Teknik penetapan sampel wilayah dilakukan secara Purposive sampling, Kecamatan yang terpilih adalah Kecamatan Kaligesing. Kecamatan Kaligesing merupakan pusat pengembangan Kambing PE, yang terdiri atas 21 desa. Pemilihan desa dilakukan secara Purposive sampling dengan mengambil 3 desa yang memiliki jumlah populasi Kambing PE tertinggi yaitu Desa Tlogoguwo, Pandanrejo dan Donorejo. Masing – masing desa dipilih 20 % kelompok tani (Poktan) dan pemilihan responden dilakukan dengan mengambil sampel 30 % dari masing – masing wilayah sampel tersebut Variabel Dependent (Y):  Pendapatan Peternak Kambing PE, Break Event Point (BEP), Efisiensi Ekonomi (R/C). Variabel Independent (X) : skala usaha (jumlah ternak) Kambing PE (X1), usia peternak (X2), tingkat pendidikan peternak (X3) dan pengalaman (lama) beternak (X4). Hasil perhitungan analisis kinerja ekonomi usaha ternak Kambing PE di Kecamatan Kaligesing dalam satu tahun memiliki rataan pendapatan sebesar Rp 11.365.510,00, rataan Break Even Point sebesar Rp 804.757,00 dan rataan efisiensi ekonomi sebesar 2,5. Pendapatan usaha ternak Kambing PE dipengaruhi oleh jumlah ternak (P<0,01) dan lama beternak (P<0,10), Break Even Point tidak dipengaruhi oleh variabel independen dan efisiensi ekonomi dipengaruhi oleh lama beternak (P<0,10). Kesimpulan dari analisis menunjukan bahwa usaha ternak Kambing PE di Kecamatan Kaligesing layak untuk lebih dikembangkan.

This research was conducted on March 19 up to April 9 2015 in Kaligesing Subdistrict, Regency of Purworejo. The purposes of this study were: 1) to analyze the performance of the economy through income analysis, BEP, and efficiency economic. 2) to analyze the influence of the number of animals, age of farmers, ranchers education level, and experience of raising revenue, BEP, and economic efficiency in enterprises of PE Goat in Kaligesing Subdistrict, Regency of Purworejo. The study was conducted through a survey method. The targets of research were farmers PE goat in Kaligesing Subdistrict, Regency of Purworejo. The sampling area that used was a purposive sampling method. The selected subdistrict was Kaligesing subdistrict. Kaligesing subdistrict was a center of PE goats development, consisted of 21 villages. The selection of villages were conducted through a purposive sampling and selected 3 villages which had the highest population of PE goats. Each slected village 20% groups of farmers (Poktan) and the selection of respondents were conducted by taken 30% of sample of selected Poktan members. Observed variables were dependent variables (income, Break Even Point, and economic efficiency) and independent variables (number of animals, age of farmers, ranchers educational level, and the old livestock). The results of economic analysis PE goat of enterprises in Kaligesing Subdistrict while one year have average of revenue was Rp 11,365,510.00, the average of BEP was Rp 804.757,00 and the average of economic efficiency was 2.5. PE goats enterprises income was being affected by the number of PE goats (P<0.01) and a long breeding (P<0.10), there was no effect on Break Even Point and economic efficiency that affected by a long breeding (P <0.10). Conclusions from the analysis showed that the Enterprises of PE goat in Kaligesing Subdistrict deserve to be develope.
