Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan daya tunas, daya tetas dan bobot tetas telur berbagai jenis ayam Sentul. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah telur ayam Sentul sebanyak 530 butir yang berasal dari 123 ekor ayam Sentul yang terdiri atas Sentul Abu 24 ekor, Sentul Batu 25 ekor, Sentul Debu 25 ekor, Sentul Emas 24 ekor dan Sentul Geni 25 ekor dengan perbandingan jantan:betina 1:4. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan dasar rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan yang diuji adalah jenis ayam Sentul yang terdiri atas Sentul Abu, Sentul Batu, Sentul Debu, Dentul Emas dan Sentul Geni. Peubah yang diamati adalah daya tunas, daya tetas dan bobot tetas telur ayam Sentul. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis variansi. Hasil analisis variansi menunjukkan bahwa berbagai jenis ayam Sentul berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap daya tunas, berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap daya tetas dan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap bobot tetas. Hasil uji Beda Nyata Jujur menunjukkan bahwa daya tunas ayam Sentul Batu berbeda nyata dengan ayam Sentul Emas, sedangkan ayam Sentul Abu, Sentul Debu dan Sentul Geni relatif sama. Sedangkan untuk daya tetas, ayam Sentul Batu dan Sentul Abu berbeda sangat nyata dengan ayam Sentul Emas, sedangkan ayam Sentul Debu dan Sentul Geni relatif sama. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah berbagai jenis ayam sentul mempengaruhi daya tunas dan daya tetas telur tetapi tidak mempengaruhi terhadap bobot tetas. Sentul Batu memiliki daya tunas dan daya tetas telur tertinggi.

The purpose of this research was to determine the difference of fertility, hatchability and hatching weight of eggs of various kinds of Sentul hen’s eggs. The materials used in this study were 530 Sentul eggs from 123 Sentul chicken comprised of Sentul Abu 24 birds, Sentul Batu 25 birds, Sentul Debu 25 birds, Sentul Emas 24 birds and Sentul Geni 25 birds with a male to female sex ratio of 1: 4. This research used experimental method with Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatments tested were the kinds of Sentul chicken consisted of Sentul Abu, Sentul Batu, Sentul Debu, Sentul Emas and Sentul Geni. The variables observed were fertility, hatchability and hatching weight of Sentul chicken. The data were analyzed used analysis of variance. The results of analysis of variance showed that various type of Sentul chicken had significant effect (P<0.05) on fertility, had highly significant effect (P<0.01) on hatchability and had no significant effect (P>0.05) on hatching weight. Based on Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test, the fertility of Sentul Batu had a significant differences to Sentul Emas, while Sentul Abu, Sentul Debu and Sentul Geni had no significant differences. For hatchability, Sentul Batu chicken and Sentul Abu chicken had a highly significant differences to Sentul Emas, while Sentul Debu and Sentul Geni had no significant differences. It can be concluded that the kinds of Sentul chicken affect fertility and hatchability, but does not affect the hatching weight. Sentul Batu highest fertility and hatchability.
