Perkembangan pendidikan lingkungan adalah suatu proses untuk membangun populasi manusia di dunia yang sadar dan peduli terhadap lingkungan. Hal ini yang sekarang sedang dilakukan oleh warga SMAN 2 Ciamis. Setiap tahun SMAN 2 Ciamis selalu menjadi salah satu perwakilan lomba kebersihan “Adipura” dari Kabupaten Ciamis, yang tentunya, merupakan suatu kebanggaan bagi sekolah tersebut karena bisa mengalahkan sekolah lain yang ada di Kabupaten Ciamis dalam hal kebersihan.  Tujuan penelitian ini adalah : Kebijakan SMAN 2 Ciamis terhadap kebersihan lingkungan sekolahnya dan peran serta siswa dalam menjaga kebersihan dan kesehatan lingkungan sekolahnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis kualitatif deskriptif. Pengetahuan akan kebersihan dan kesehatan lingkungan sekolah berasal dari kesadaran diri sendiri akan pentingnya kebersihan dan mengenai upaya guna mempertahankan kebersihan kelas merupakan tanggung jawab bersama antara para siswa, wali kelas serta guru PLH beserta anggota sekolah lainnya. Karna kesadaran akan kebersihan lingkungan sekolah merupakan hal yang sangat penting guna menumbuhkan rasa nyaman, aman dan tentram dalam lingkungan sekolah itu sendiri. Mengenai peran siswa di SMAN 2 Ciamis dalam menjaga lingkungan sekolah didukung oleh berbagai pihak. Dalam upaya menyadarkan siswa akan kebersihan lingkungan sekolah, para guru dan ketua kelas atau wali kelas harus memberikan contoh yang baik. Peran siswa di antaranya dengan pembuatan kompos dan melaksanakan kegiatan lomba kelas terbersih setiap minggu di SMAN 2 Ciamis.

Development of the Environment Education is One of the process to develop human population that aware and pay attention to the Environment. These one isrecently doing by SMAN 2 ciamis. Each year SMAN 2 Ciamis always be one of the delegation to “Adipura” from ciamis district. It is of course, things can be proud of from that school because the school can out schools inside of ciamis district incleanliness issues. The purpose of the problem is : SMAN 2 Ciamis policies from the school affect to the cleanliness their school. and student partisipasion in maintaining the cleanliness and healt of the school.  The method that will use inside of this researc his qualitative descriptive method, with data analysis techniques that will be use in this researc his qualitative and decriptive analysis. Knowledge about the clean linessand heal thiness of the school area is come from the own conscience about how important the clean linessand about the effort to maintainhe clean liness of the irclassisone of shared responsibillity from the students, the home room teachers, also PLH teacher as well as other member of the school. Because their awareness about the cleanliness of the school area is the most important thing to build the comfortness, safeness, and peaceful from the school it self. About the role of the studen tin SMAN 2 Ciamis to keep the school issupported by otherparties. From the effort to create the awareness of the student to create clean linessin the school area, the teacher and the leader of the class or the home room teacher should give a good example, in this. The role of student are making compos and implement the contest cleanest class activity every week in SMAN 2 Ciamis
