Hipertensi merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang paling sering terjadi dan penyakit ini berhubungan dengan tipe perilaku individu itu sendiri. Tipe perilaku ada 2 yaitu perilaku tipe A dan tipe B. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku tipe A dan tipe B terhadap kejadian hipertensi di RSUD Margono Soekarjo. Metode penelitian adalah observasional analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Subjek penelitian adalah pasien hipertensi yang memeriksakan diri di Poliklinik penyakit dalam di Rumah Sakit Margono Soekarjo dan sudah didiagnosis menderita hipertensi oleh dokter ahli penyakit dalam dengan jumlah sampel total 59 responden. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis univariat berupa tabel distribusi frekuensi dan analisis bivariate dengan Chi-Square. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan ada hubungan yang bermakna antara perilaku tipe A dan B terhadap kejadian hipertensi di Rumah Sakit Margono Soekarjo (P<0,005). Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi acuan untuk perkembangan penelitian lain mengenai Tipe perilaku A dan B

Background: Hypertension is one of the degenerative disease and the most common type of the disease is associated with the individual's own behavior. There are 2 types of behavior that the behavior of type A and type B. This study aims to determine the relationship of the behavior of type A and type B on the incidence of hypertension in hospitals Margono Soekarjo. 
Methods: The research method is analytical observation with cross sectional approach. Subjects were patients with hypertension who checked into the clinic internal medicine at the Hospital Margono Soekarjo and has been diagnosed with hypertension by a specialist in internal medicine with a total sample of 59 respondents. Analysis of the data used is the univariate analysis in the form of a frequency distribution table and bivariate analysis with Chi-Square. 
Results: Results showed no significant relationship between the behavior of type A and B on the incidence of hypertension in Margono Tanuwijaya Soekarjo (P <0.005). This study is expected to be a reference for the development of other studies on the behavior of Type A and B
