UPAYA MEMPERPANJANG MASA KESEGARAN BUNGA POTONG KRISAN (Chrysanthemum sp) DALAM KAJIAN LAMA WAKTU PERENDAMAN DAN KOMPOSISI LARUTAN PULSING

Pulsing merupakan perlakuan pengawetan bunga segera setelah panen untuk memberi bekal sumber nutrisi pada bunga dan melindungi tangkai bunga dari serangan mikroorganisme penyebab penyumbatan pembuluh pada tangkai bunga. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi dan lama waktu perendaman larutan pulsing terhadap masa kesegaran bunga potong krisan. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Agronomi Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman pada bulan Agustus sampai September 2014. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu komposisi larutan pulsing (Air 300 ml (tanpa penambahan bahan kimia); AgNO3 50 ppm + gula pasir 10 % + Asam sitrat 50 ppm + air sampai 300 ml; AgNO3 50 ppm + gula pasir 15 % + Asam sitrat 50 ppm + air sampai 300 ml; AgNO3 50 ppm + gula pasir 20 % + Asam sitrat 50 ppm + air sampai 300 ml). Faktor kedua yaitu lama waktu perendaman larutan pulsing terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu: (lama perendaman 2 jam, 4 jam, 6 jam dan 8 jam). Variabel yang diamati adalah total larutan pulsing yang terserap, total larutan holding yang terserap, persentase penambahan diameter bunga, warna bunga, saat bunga layu dan masa kesegaran bunga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan komposisi larutan pulsing air 300 ml (tanpa penambahan bahan kimia) memberikan pengaruh yang paling baik pada variabel masa kesegaran bunga yaitu selama 22,41 hari. Perlakuan lama waktu perendaman larutan pulsing dan interaksinya tidak menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap semua variabel pengamatan.

Pulsing is a treatment of flowers preservation immediately after harvest to provide a provision of nutrients source to the flowers and to protect flower stalks from invading of microorganisms causing vessel blockage on the flower stalks. This research aims to determine the effect of the composition and duration of soaking pulsing solution against the freshness of cut flowers of chrysanthemum. The experiment was conducted in Agronomy Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty, Jenderal Soedirman University from August to September 2014. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 16 treatments and 3 replications. The first factor is the composition of the 2 pulsing solution (300 ml water ( without addition of chemicals ); AgNO3 50 ppm + 10 % sugar + 50 ppm citric acid + water until 300 ml; AgNO3 50 ppm + 15 % sugar + 50 ppm citric acid + water until 300 ml; AgNO3 50 ppm + 20 % sugar + 50 ppm citric acid + water until 300 ml. Second factor is the duration of soaking pulsing solution consisting of 4 extents, they are: (2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours and 8 hours of soaking duration). Observed variables were the total of absorbed pulsing solution, the total of absorbed holding solution, the percentage of increase flowers’ diameter, flowers’ color, when the flowers were wilt and the freshness of flowers. The result of this research showed the composition of the pulsing solution treatment (300 ml water without addition of chemicals) provides the best effect to the freshness of chrysanthemum flowers that can be last during 22.41 days. Duration treatment of soaking pulsing solution and interaction showed no significant effect on all variables observations.
