Penelitian ini berjudul “The Hatred Act toward German Immigrants in American Society in Dorothy Garlock’s The Moon Lokeed Down”. Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang upaya karakter antagonis dalam  novel  yang merupakan warga Amerika asli menyakiti dan berusaha mengusir mereka dengan cara menunjukkan rasa kebencian kepada mereka. 	Dalam penelitian ini, metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menganalisa data. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah novel The Moon Looked Down karangan Dorothy Garlock yang unsure-unsur satra nya dianalisa menggunakan teori kebencian oleh Robert J. Sternberg dan teori tentang akar kebencian oleh R.F Baumeister. 
	Setelah melakukan penelitian ini, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa ada tiga komponen kebencian dan juga beserta akar-akar penyebabnya yang dilihat dari tokoh antagonis Riley, Ellis dan Graham kepada Sophie Heller dan keluarganya sebagai tokoh imajiner yang ditemukan dalam  novel.  Riley, Ellis dan Graham adalah warga negara Amerika asli  yang menjadi kunci dalam penelitian ini. Tahap-tahap kebencian yang mereka lakukan  kepada immigran Jerman yaitu keluarga Sophie Heller menjadi bahan peneliti melakukan analisa tentang teori kebencian dan juga akar-akarnya. Konflik terjadi karena para tokoh antagonis menunjukkan rasa kebenciannya dengan cara yang brutal bahkan tergolong kriminal. Hasil dari analisa peneliti adalah kebencian yang muncul dalam diri karakter antagonis memiliki proses dan juga sebab-sebanya.

This research, entitled "The Hatred Act toward German Immigrants in American Society in Dorothy Garlock's The Moon Lokeed Down". This research describes efforts antagonist characters in the novel who are  Americans hurting and trying to drive them in a way to show their hatred. In this research, a qualitative descriptive method is used to analyze the data. The data source of this research is the novel The Moon Looked Down Dorothy Garlock is Literature its elements are analyzed using the theory of hatred by Robert J. Sternberg and theories about the roots of hatred by RF Baumeister. 
After doing this research, the researcher concluded that there are three components of hatred and also along the root causes of the antagonist seen Riley, Ellis and Graham to Sophie Heller and his family as imaginary characters found in the novel. Riley, Ellis and Graham is a native American citizen who was key in this research. Stages of hatred that they did to the German  immigrants Sophie Heller  family became the researchers conducted an aalysis on the theory of hatred and also the roots. The conflict occurs because the antagonist showed a sense of hatred in a way that even a relatively brutal criminal. The results of the analysis  is the hatred that appears in the antagonist characters has a process and also it causes.
