Informasi mengenai aktivitas perusahaan atau kinerja perusahaan sangat penting diperlukan bagi para investor karena informasi kinerja perusahaan mampu menggambarkan kondisi ekonomi perusahaan, serta prospek pertumbuhan perusahaan sehingga dapat dijadikan sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan investor dalam memilih investasi pada suatu perusahaan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), current ratio (CR), debt to equity ratio (DER) dan total assets turnover (TAT) terhadap return saham. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan variabel kontrol yang diproksikan oleh volume perdagangan saham (VPS).
Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan - perusahaan yang terdaftar di Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) tahun 2008-2013 secara keseluruhan yang berjumlah 56 perusahaan. Perusahaan yang dijadikan sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling, dengan kriteria :  terdaftar dalam JII pada periode 2008-2013, tidak delisting selama periode 2008-2013, menerbitkan laporan keuangan pada periode 2008-2013, menyajikan informasi saham pada periode 2008-2013. Metode analisis penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi berganda. 
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa secara parsial variabel ROA, ROE, dan VPS secara parsial memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap return saham perusahaan-perusahaan dalam Jakarta Islamic Index, sedangkan variabel CR, DER, dan TAT tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap return saham perusahaan-perusahaan dalam Jakarta Islamic Index. Secara simultan variabel ROA, ROE, CR, DER, TAT dan VPS memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap return saham perusahaan-perusahaan dalam Jakarta Islamic Index. 
Implikasi dari penelitian ini yaitu perusahaan yang terdaftar dalam Jakarta Islamic Index dalam mengendalikan kinerja keuangan perusahaan lebih memperhatikan rasio profitabilitas, hal ini dikarenakan variabel return on assets dan return on equity memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan dibandingkan dengan rasio lainnya seperti likuiditas, leverage, dan aktivitas. Bagi investor atau calon investor yang hendak melakukan investasi di Jakarta Islamic Index hendaknya perlu menjadikan return on assets, return on equity, dan volume perdagangan saham sebagai acuan dalam pengambilan keputusan investasi karena ketiga variabel tersebut mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap return saham pada perusahaan-perusahaan dalam Jakarta Islamic Index tahun 2008 – 2013.

Information on the company's activities or performance of the company is very important because it is necessary for investors to describe the company’s economic conditions, and company's growth prospects so that it can be used as basis for investor’s decision making in selecting investments in a company. The purpose of this study is to understand the influence of return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE), current ratio (CR), debt to equity ratio (DER) and total asset turnover (TAT) on stock returns. This study also uses the control variables which proxied by trading volume stock (VPS).
The population in this study are companies which listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) 2008-2013 the total is 56 companies. Companies sampled in this study were taken by using purposive sampling method, with the following criteria: listed in JII in the period 2008-2013, not delisted during the period 2008-2013, published financial statements in the period 2008-2013, presenting stock information on the period 2008- 2013. The method of analysis of this study using multiple regression analysis.
These study’s results show that the variable ROA, ROE, and VPS partially give a significant influence on companies’s stock returns in the Jakarta Islamic Index, while the variable CR, DER, and TAT did not give a significant influence on stock returns of companies in Jakarta Islamic Index. Simultaneously ROA, ROE, CR, DER, TAT and VPS have a significant influence on companies’s stock returns in the Jakarta Islamic Index.
The implications of this research that the companies which listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index in controlling the financial performance of companies more concerned with profitability ratios, this is because the variable return on assets and return on equity have a significant effect compared with other ratios such as liquidity, leverage, and activity. For investors or potential investors who want to invest on the Jakarta Islamic Index should have to make the return on assets, return on equity, and stock trading volume as a reference in making investment decisions for these three variables has a significant influence on stock returns for companies on Jakarta Islamic Index on the period 2008-2013.
